Jonas Brothers closed out the tribute to the legendary musical group, Earth, Wind & Fire, when the 42nd Annual Kennedy Center Awards aired on Sunday night, and fans claim it was a wrong decision to have the band perform.

The Annual Kennedy Center Honors 2019 was hosted by LL Cool J, who was a recipient of the honor back in 2017. He hosted the special for the first time. A slew of celebrity icons was honored for the indefinite mark they have left on this generation. Celebrating them, the special included musical and spoken tributes to the celebrities.

Others, who were honored, included actress Sally Field, singer Linda Ronstadt, children’s educational television program 'Sesame Street' and conductor Michael Tilson Thomas. The final tribute was for Earth, Wind, and Fire, who are among the best selling music groups of all time.

They had a spoken tribute given by David Foster who wrote a song for them, titled 'After The Love Has Gone'. John Legend took to the stage and paid a musical tribute by performing his rendition of their classic, 'Can't Hide Love'. David Copperfield also gave them a spoken tribute. Apart from that, there were musical performances by Cynthia Erivo ('Fantasy'/'Reasons'), Ne-Yo ('Shining Star') and the final tribute by Jonas Brothers who even closed the night with their performance of 'Boogie Wonderland'.

Taking to Twitter, fans claimed that making the Jonas Brothers perform a song by Earth, Wind & Fire was a wrong decision and that it wasn't good in any way. "There's not a funky bone in the Jonas Brothers bodies. Watching them perform Earth Wind & Fire was like eating Frosted Flakes with buttermilk .. it su*ked!! #KennedyCenterHonors," a fan shared.

"OMG! Who pick the Jonas brothers to sing Earth Wind Fire song at The Kennedy Center Honors. I guess there was no black music artist available! #KCHonors Jonas brothers was horrible," a fan wrote.

Adding to that another said, "Kennedy Center Honors performances to Earth Wind & Fire were an incredible musical tribute, Jonas Brothers notwithstanding."

"The Jonas Brothers are too weak to sing an Earth Wind & Fire song! I am sure there is another group that would have delivered better!" shared a fan.
