Why did Luke Bryan SKIP 2021 ACM Awards? Real reason why country singer opted out but won Entertainer of the Year
The stage was set for the Academy of Country Music Award 2021, but artist Luke Bryan skipped the award ceremony this year, on account of health issues, seeing that Bryan recently tested positive for Covid-19.
Bryan was nominated this year under the category of 'Entertainer of the Year', alongside other big names such as Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Eric Church and Thomas Rhett. Rhett incidentally won under the very same category last year along with Carrie Underwood. The singer went on to win the award and appeared via video to accept the honor.
"Oh my God, y'all got me. I am amazingly surprised. What an honor," Bryan said. "We've missed being on the road with everyone who makes me an entertainer. We'll be back out on the road doing what we love ... I love you guys."

Why did Luke Bryan miss ACM Awards 2021?
As always, the nominees of this category will perform, seeing that most of these performances have been pre-taped and took place across various venues across Nashville, Tennessee. The venues include the Grand Ole Opry House, the Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe, where the nominees performed for small crowds made up of medical and healthcare professionals.
Bryan, however, did not perform after testing positive for Covid-19. The singer, whose recent single "Waves" hit country radio not too long ago and was scheduled to pre-tape his performance but was unable to do so on account of the same.
He also took to Twitter not too long ago to announce that he wouldn't be a part of the 'American Idol' live show either. "I’m sad to say I won’t be a part of tonight’s first live @AmericanIdol show. I tested positive for COVID but I’m doing well and look forward to being back at it soon." The singer is back on the show now.
Although unable to attend the award show, he did tweet out his support to the country music fraternity. "Good luck to all my friends on the @ACMawards TONIGHT. It’s gonna be a great night for country music! #ACMAwards."
