With only one episode left, it seems like Rostov will finally be able to leave the confined world of the hotel and start a fresh life.

As the series nears its conclusion, Rostov and Anna Urbanova (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) are seeking a way out of the hotel. Their shared desire for freedom and a new beginning drives them to explore possibilities beyond the confines of their current lives.

In Episode 7 of 'A Gentleman in Moscow', Mikhail 'Mishka' Fyodorovich Mindich (Fehinti Balogun) returns to the Metropol Hotel after enduring years of suffering in a prison camp.

Rostov, seeing Mishka's wounds, tries to care for him, but Mishka appears distant and withdrawn as if he has lost the will to live.

Meanwhile, The Bishop (John Heffernan) organizes a strange funeral party for the late Soviet Union leader, which the staff must participate in. Being a waiter, Rostov attends the event.

However, Rostov is preoccupied with thoughts of Sophia (Beau Gadsdon), who is competing in a major piano competition, and Mishka, who has lost the will to live.

Sophia wins the competition and earns the opportunity to perform in prestigious cities such as Paris, Prague, and Minsk.

After the death of the current leader, Osip (Johnny Harris) requests Rostov to engage in some espionage during a meeting where officials will discuss the selection of the next leader.

Richard (Lucian Msamati), an American diplomat staying at the Metropol Hotel, also approaches Rostov with a request to spy on the authorities attending the meeting. In exchange for his cooperation, Richard offers to take Sophia to the United States for a new life.

Following the meeting, Rostov revealed that someone named Khrushchev would be the next Soviet Union leader. However, Osip expresses his disapproval of Khrushchev.

In the final scene, Mishka departs from the hotel without saying goodbye to anyone. Prior to his departure, he leaves behind old photographs and a poem for Rostov.

The poem, which had actually been written by Mishka, inadvertently saved Rostov's life at the tribunal in Episode 1. The authorities mistakenly believed that Rostov was the author of the poem.

In 'A Gentleman in Moscow' Episode 8, Rostov may pass valuable information about the Russian authorities to Richard. This decision could have significant implications, potentially affecting not only Rostov's future but also the lives of those around him, including Sophia.

In exchange for the secret information, Richard may offer assistance to Rostov, Anna, and Sophia to relocate to the United States and begin a new life. This offer presents a glimmer of hope for the trio, who have longed for freedom and a fresh start outside the confines of the hotel.

Sophia's new life in the United States could offer her opportunities to continue her education and pursue her passion for music. Meanwhile, Rostov and Anna's relationship may take a significant turn, especially after Anna's confession of love for Rostov. There's a possibility that Rostov and Anna will get married.

However, departing from the Metropol presents a challenge for Rostov, as stepping outside could mean risking his life due to the threat of the Russian authorities.

'A Gentleman in Moscow' Episode 7 is now streaming on Showtime and Paramount+.
