Zooey Deschanel, Jonathan Scott gush about each other as they spend first New Year's day together
Zooey Deschanel was on cloud 9 as she spent Christmas and New Year's for the first time with her beau Jonathan Scott.
On the first day of the year, the 39-year-old actress and 'Property Brothers' star, 41, could not stop gushing about each other in sweet Instagram posts on their respective social media accounts.
While Zooey called herself "the luckiest gal" as she shared a photo showing her receiving a warm embrace by her beau, captioning it, "A truly Happy New Year with my sweetie!" Jonathan shared a selfie of the pair taken at the same location with the comment: "Once in a lifetime you meet someone who changes everything."
Both of them left sweet comments on each other's posts. “New Years Resolution… continue being the kinda fella you deserve," he wrote on his girlfriend's post.
Around the same time that 'The New Girl' star announced her split from producer husband Jacob Pechenik, she was seen holding hands with the HGTV reality star, a month after meeting on the set of James Corden's 'Carpool Karaoke' series in August. The pair were seen holding hands, which created rumors of them dating.
A source previously told People magazine that Zooey and Jonathan “bonded” initially in their relationship over a “shared love of music” “He makes her laugh and he’s so sweet to her,” the source added. “And he’s very close to his family and loves children.”
Pechenik was Zooey's second husband. They married in 2015 and the couple has two children together - Elsie, four, and Charlie, two.
"After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners and co-parents rather than life partners," the exes said in a joint statement to People magazine. "We remain committed to our business, our values and most of all our children."
Zooey is best known for her roles in the movies 'Elf', 'Failure To Launch' and '500 Days Of Summer' as well as the Fox sitcom 'New Girl'.
