Zendaya and John David Washington's chemistry in 'Malcolm & Marie' is hard to ignore, so it's not surprising that there are rumors abound that the stars of 'Malcolm & Marie' are a couple in real life as well. However, it seems that hopes of a romance between the two gorgeous stars is just wishful thinking from all us romantics.

The two are not romantically involved though rumors of romances with co-stars is not something new for Zendaya. Zendaya was also linked to her 'Spiderman: Homecoming' co-star Tom Holland but she set the record straight about her relationship with Holland, telling Variety, “He’s a great dude. He’s literally one of my best friends.” In 2020, it was rumored that Zendaya was dating her 'Euphoria' co-star Jacob Elordi. The two were even spotted kissing. However, the romance seemed to be short-lived because shortly after that Elordi began dating model Kaia Gerber.

As for Washington, he is intensely private about his personal life and according to recent interviews he is currently single. It seems that his famous surname also makes Washington a little wary of the dating game.

Talking about the difficulties of dating as Denzel Washington's son, he said, "It does make it tricky, making friends, in relationships, significant others and all that. I’ve been in two relationships and they both faltered because of the trust thing, paranoia by nature… It might’ve been my own paranoia that sabotaged the relationships. They were okay in hindsight.”

Well, looks like Washington is open to taking a long hard look at his relationship history, but at least we know one leading lady with who he creates magic, even if it's only on screen for now.
