Zac Efron won't be getting back his Baywatch body anytime soon as it's hard to maintain: 'Just not real'
Zac Efron recently made an appearance on ‘Hot One’, where he revealed that he won’t be returning to his ultra-musclebound ‘Baywatch’ body anytime soon. ‘Hot One’ is a show hosted by Sean Evans where celebrities guests are asked questions while they try to eat chicken wings coated in spicy hot sauce.
While eating spicy chicken wings, Efron said he “never wants” to be in that level of shape again as "it was so hard".
“That was actually a really important time to do ‘Baywatch’. I realized when I was done with that movie, that I don't ever want to be in that good of shape again. It was so hard. You're working with almost no wiggle room. You've got things like water under your skin that you're worried about, making your six-pack into a four-pack, s*** like that,” the 32-year-old said.
Efron added: “It's just stupid. It's just not real. I'm happy that it worked, I'm happy that it got me through it. I may do it again if it was something worthwhile, but we'll wait until it gets to that. Take care of your heart, take care of your brain, you're good.”
The ‘Summerland’ star is currently promoting his new adventure series ‘Killing Zac Efron’, which will be launched on Quibi on April 6 in the US. In the series, he will be seen venturing deep into a jungle on a survival adventure.
On Evans’s show, the ‘Greatest Showman’ star also mentioned about some choice advice Leonardo DiCaprio once gave him. He further continued how a chance encounter with the ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ actor at a Lakers game back in 2008 led to a special one-on-one breakfast with him.
Efron said, “What was really cool about that night, and this kind of sticks in my mind is like, we weren’t talking at that point. And then I was just gonna wait for him, and sure enough he, like, had his hat down low and when the ball went to the other side he was like, "Hey man do you want to like go get breakfast tomorrow?"'
“So he wrote his phone number down and handed it to me while the other team was scoring and nobody saw and I took it,” he told Evans.
Efron stated how he shared some pancakes with the A-list actor and talked about the pressure of fame. “I had, like, a billion questions for him at that point. Definitely dealing with too much paparazzi presence in my life and, like, sitting next to Leo I was just like, 'Dude how have you handled this for so long?"'
However, he added that DiCaprio’s response surprised him as he said: “Frankly, you're getting it a little bit different.”
“He was like, ‘Yeah there’s never this many cars here,” Efron said, remembering there were at least '10 cars' following him at the time. “He was like, ‘That’s insane dude’. I saw in his eyes a little bit of the feeling that I consistently was having all the time which was just, like, stress and anxiety and he was like, ‘Don’t worry about it, man. You’re good’.”
