Jay is a multi-faceted artist
The older brother of the 63-year-old actress was born in Ogden, Utah on March 2, 1955. Marie was born a little over four years later on October 13, 1959. She is one of the most well-known members of Jay’s large and close-knit family. Jay comes from a big family and shares his parents, Olive Osmond and George Osmond, with eight other siblings.
Jay is recognized as a multifaceted and gifted artist. He is well recognised for being The Osmond Brothers' youngest band member. The 68-year-old is not only a skilled producer but also a vocalist and percussionist. Jay's career started while he was just a toddler, and by age two, he was already performing. Their mother, Olive, passed away in 2004 after a marriage that lasted over six decades. Their parents tied the knot in 1944.
In addition, the producer is acknowledged as having worked on seven different projects, including ‘The Gift of Love’, ‘Bob Hope Presents the Chrysler Theater’, and the TV series ‘Marie’ which starred Marie and the now-deceased actor Gavin Macleod. His first marriage was to Kandilyn Harris, and his most recent marriage was on May 21, 2014, with Karen Randall.
Illness in the family
Jay Osmond disclosed he had a ‘mini stroke’ in a Facebook post made on August 25, 2020. “I hadn't said this earlier since I didn't want to alarm anyone,” Osmond wrote in the post. He further wrote, "A couple of months ago, I came really close to a stroke. BP over 200. They said I had a mini stroke.”
Fans and followers know that health problems have frequently plagued the Osmond family. Jimmy Osmond suffered a stroke while performing on stage in the UK version of ‘Peter Pan’ late in 2018.
Marie told People then, "My brother Virl had a stroke, my brother Tom had a quadruple bypass, Jimmy had a stroke, and Donny, of course, is undergoing surgery." She continued, "I've experienced a lot of loss and challenging situations in my life. I'm not claiming that there are differences; everyone does. But I have a lot of faith”.
