'You lost your mind': Whoopi Goldberg reprimands Nikki Haley over her 'ridiculous' presidential campaign launch

Whoopi Goldberg was furious when clips of Nikki Haley's presidential campaign ad were played during a segment of 'The View'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Whoopi Goldberg dissed former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley over her presidential election campaign launch. 'The Views' co-host was not impressed with Haley's new campaign ad. In fact, Goldberg was furious when clips of the ad were played during a segment of the show on Tuesday, February 14. She accused the Republican of no longer knowing right from wrong and called her out for not admitting that America was not perfect.

"So Nikki, you know, since you have been asleep all this time, and you just woke up, you're just finding out that there are things about our country that are not perfect," 'The View's co-host said. "And for us to pretend that it is and that nothing happened is ridiculous. So you're not saying anything new. And you of all people should know better because you used to actually have some sanity and knew right from wrong. And then you lost your mind and went in some new direction. So don't do that," she added, sounding upset.

In the campaign ad, Haley talks about how blessed she is to live in America, and that America's founding principles weren't "bad," or the promise of freedom "made up." She also slammed all those who referred to American ideals as "racist and evil." Hearing this, Goldberg said, "Nothing could be further from the truth."

This is not the first time Goldberg has called out the Republican. Back in 2019, Goldberg called Haley "anti-human" for a comment she made at the Susan B Anthony List’s 12th annual Campaign for Life Gala linking abortion and anti-feminism. The former governor stated that "many on the left" use the abortion debate "to divide women and demand conformity." "They do this in the name of feminism. But that is not real feminism," Haley added as per The Hill.

To which, Goldberg commented, "Let me get this straight. So giving a woman a choice about what to do with her body is anti-feminist." "See to me, you taking the choice from people is anti-human, so I don’t understand", Goldberg added as per the outlet.

Hearing Goldberg's take on Haley's campaign, a Twitter user wrote, "Let's see, #WhoopiGoldberg is at best a second rate actress & a terrible talk show host, #NikkiHaley was governor of #SouthCarolina & Ambassador to UN." Another said, "Proof they are scared of a powerful, smart and articulate conservative woman. Is Nikki an Ace up the GOP's sleeve?" "Old ugly Oopsie so jealous of Nikki Haley," one user further wrote.

But Goldberg's supporters came to the rescue, as a person tweeted, "Whoopi Goldberg is right. Nikki Haley’s commercial made it look like people on the Right aren’t the problem. I recall it was them defecating for laughs in the same building Abraham Lincoln walked through. #TheView." One user called Goldberg 'right' and said, "Whoopi Goldberg is right Nikki Haley is unqualified and we didn't forget how you Republicans got your panties in a bunch and attacked Jesse Jackson saying he was unqualified for president."
