LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ever since R&B singer Cassie Ventura filed her explosive lawsuit against Sean Combs 'Diddy' on Thursday, November 16, former Danity Kane member Aubrey O'Day has been extremely vocal about the case on her social media.

While she has shown her unequivocal support for the 'Me & U' singer following Cassie's accusations, O'Day posted a cryptic message apparently slamming the swift settlement of the lawsuit on the following day.

O'Day took to her social media to call out the justice system after news broke that the 37-year-old mother of two settled the lawsuit against her former boyfriend Diddy on Friday.

On both her Instagram Stories and X account, O'Day wrote, “Money > accountability. Every time,” before adding, “Welcome to another chapter of the system is well in place. 💔.”

Along with the remark, she also attached the New York Times article about the settlement.

The 'Damaged' singer's alleged criticism of the justice system, however, baffled the Internet as many fans were confused about the target of her castigation. Many social media users also slammed O'Day for apparently shading Cassie for the quick resolution.

However, it appears O'Day meant something else.

Sensing the confusion, O'Day posted an explanatory message where she wrote, "This comment is reflecting puffs moves. Not hers. She told her story, and it validated her, not me or mine. The accountability was on him.. stop being so divisive & put your mind in a more positive space."

'That was fast'

The Internet was also left baffled with the swiftness with which the matter was resolved. Some of the fans even slammed O'Day for her apparent criticism.

One of the fans said, "Thanks ..You never took puffy sh*t from day one ..And I always loved you for that.. He treats [ppl] like shit...I never liked him every since big die . Always looked at him sideways."

"All yall need to get together in Sue him. Higher n numbers work better together," said someone else.

"Well u would have to blame Cassie for that. She decided not to stand on business & proved she needed money not justice. Her husband can’t provide the lifestyle she’s accustomed to & she’s doesn’t work herself," said another fan.

Someone else noted, "“For her if looks like the point was a settlement” is tone deaf. I will await your next excuse. I know it’s coming."

The same fan further added, "She literally said that Cassid wanted a settlement but she wanted accountability. That is tone deaf. You’re a fan but it’s ok for others to say something about her posts."

Another fan, however, supported O'Day and said, "But that is not what she said, show where she said anything about Cassie, and I will stand corrected. Show me direct quotes, please!"

O'Day's initial response to lawsuit

After Cassie filed the federal lawsuit saying she is “a victim of sex trafficking” by the founder of Bad Boy Records, O'Day supported the singer by posting on her Instagram Story, “Been trynna tell y’all for years. Prayers up for this queen 🙌🏼 @cassie."

In another post, she added. “Only day ya’ll are gonna put some respect on my name when I tell you things," per Us Weekly.

She later posted another message on November 19, "Justice is a word that means nothing to those that can afford it’s grasp. 😞"

O'Day too has had a history with the hip hop star. She previously appeared on MTV’s 'Making the Band 3', which was helmed by Diddy. She was subsequently chosen as a member of the band Danity Kane.

However, during the finale of 'Making the Band 4' in 2008, Diddy revealed she was kicked out of the group, per Us Weekly.

On Thursday, O'Day further added, “If u think what made the cut was as ugly as it got … you’re wrong,” after she shared a clip from the show where she was seen having a serious conversation with Diddy.

She also stated to Rolling Stone in support of Cassie, "It isn’t easy to take on one of the most powerful people in this industry and be honest about your experience with them. I know what her heart is feeling right now, because I have done so as well."

O'Day added, “May her voice bring all the others to the table, so we can start having more transparent conversations about what is actually happening behind the scenes. There is a lot more to all of our stories!”
