QUEBEC, CANADA: In a recent incident on the popular live-streaming platform Twitch, well-known streamer xQc was confronted with a deeply troubling occurrence that left him in disbelief. The cause of his reaction was the platform's recommendations section, which unexpectedly displayed provocative and explicit content. This unexpected appearance of inappropriate material raised serious concerns among his fans as well.

Throughout its existence, Twitch has been diligent in enforcing a stringent policy against explicit content, ensuring that the platform remains appropriate for all users. Streamers who have violated this rule have faced strict consequences, often resulting in temporary or permanent bans from the platform. However, the recent incident that saw provocative content in the recommendations section has sparked a wave of criticism from xQc, his community, and other streamers, raising concerns about potential inconsistencies in Twitch's enforcement of its policies.

'Are you seeing this?'

The renowned Twitch personality, xQc, had a startling experience when he accessed the platform's homepage. During a live broadcast on Thursday, July 27, he visibly reacted with surprise, placing a hand over his mouth in astonishment. To his disbelief, Twitch's homepage featured a recommendation in the "Channels we think you'll like" section, showcasing a bodypainting streamer known as Taylor Jevaux.

What caught his attention was Jevaux's nearly bare appearance, her chest partially covered with paint. However, what made the situation even more shocking was the title of her stream, which read "18+, is this even allowed?" accompanied by water droplet emojis, suggesting provocative content.

xQc questioned his friend Jessie, with whom he was live-streaming, "Are you seeing this?" The two then indulged in some light-hearted banter about the situation. However, it was not only xQc who encountered this peculiar broadcast on his homepage. Watch the video HERE.

'Double standards are insane'

After xQc came across the distressing incident of encountering explicit content recommendations on the platform, the Twitch community swiftly reacted with an outpouring of opinions and reactions. One user wrote, "I saw this yesterday. The double standards are insane." Another user wrote, "Tf is up w twitch..." A user stated, "And kick is bad hmm." A user commented, "I got banned for wearing a sleeveless shirt, justice for me please." Another user commented, "This is allowed but my dog accidentally pooping on my stream leads to a ban????"
