LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the latest, and the most highly anticipated Season finale of 'X-Men '97', called 'Tolerance Is Extinction, Pt. 3', Season 1 wrapped up with an intense ending.

Disney+ aired the Season finale of 'X-Men '97' on Wednesday, May 15 and it did not disappoint us, bringing an epic and dramatic conclusion to the season.

'X-Men '97' Episode 8, 'Tolerance Is Extinction, Part 1', set the stage with Spider-Man making a surprising appearance. In 'Episode 9', it was revealed that Bastion possesses the ability to control machines with his mind, making him a technopath.

The X-Men had split into two teams: one searching for Magneto and the other aiming to stop Bastion. In Episode 10, Bastion's ultimate plan was to crash Asteroid M into Earth, spelling doom for humanity. Amid the chaos, Professor Xavier entered Magneto's mind, reversing the EMP blast and aiding him in overcoming his trauma.

In the end, Episode 10 concluded with the X-Men battling Bastion while Xavier's intervention helped thwart the catastrophic collision, saving Earth from destruction.

Here's a brief summary of how 'Tolerance Is Extinction, Pt. 3' ended.

Magneto saves the Earth from Astroid M

In the climax of 'X-Men '97' Episode 10, Professor Xavier delves into Magneto's mind, urging him to see that mutants aren't enemies of humanity but allies.

It's a tough task, requiring a deep therapy session to help Magneto confront his childhood trauma. Eventually, Magneto comes to his senses, realizing that humans aren't his foes; it's Bastion who's the true threat.

Upon awakening, Magneto swiftly heads toward Asteroid M, using his magnetic powers to control it and steer it away from Earth, averting disaster. However, the asteroid explodes in space, seemingly taking most of the X-Men with it, leaving their fate uncertain.

X-Men are yanked into different timelines by an unknown force

In the closing moments of 'X-Men '97', six months have passed since the X-Men vanished, and Forge is on a quest to find them.

Bishop unexpectedly resurfaces after Episode 3, seeking Forge's help to retrieve the lost X-Men, scattered across different timelines due to an unknown force. This plea occurs just before Asteroid M explodes, leaving them scant moments to flee.

The scene shifts to Jean and Scott, who find themselves in the future, encountering a new character named Mother Askani. Meanwhile, the remaining X-Men awaken in ancient Egypt circa 3000 BC, trapped in the past.

The series reaches a gripping conclusion as Beast cradles Professor Xavier, realizing they're not in their own timeline but stranded in the distant past, prompting his solemn remark, "Oh Dear."

Apocalypse makes a villainous return in the post-credits scene

After encountering Apocalypse in his early days, we're brought back to the present, where he's in modern-day Genosha reflecting on the devastation there, especially for what he calls "his children." He picks up Gambit's burnt-out card and smirks, hinting at Gambit's return.

In Marvel Comics, Gambit eventually returns from death, becoming one of Apocalypse's Four Horsemen. When Gambit died in 'X-Men '97', fans speculated he might follow this path. It seemed unlikely they'd truly kill off Gambit, and thankfully, it appears he's making a comeback.

The series seemed hesitant to take that route at first, but now it's happening. Someday, Remy LeBeau will be back.

He might not be his usual self initially, but hopefully, with the help of the X-Men and his love for Rogue, he'll find his way back sooner rather than later.
