Mister Sinister tries to make baby Nathan invincible in 'X-Men '97'
Upon reaching Mister Sinister's lair, The Goblin Queen surrenders baby Nathan to him.
Mister Sinister then places the infant in a human incubator-like device, exposing him to a Techno-Organic virus strain that could potentially render him invincible, given his mutant heritage and the fact that he's the offspring of a clone created by Mister Sinister himself.
His schemes are foiled when the X-Men infiltrate his hideout, and the actual Jean Grey assists The Goblin Queen in revisiting her childhood memories to regain control of her mind.
Despite their efforts, nothing works until they both glimpse baby Nathan in their vision. The Goblin Queen realizes that she's not merely a tool created by Mister Sinister, but also a mother whose child was born out of love.
She then finally snaps out of his control and shatters the incubation pod, rescuing baby Nathan and returning him to the X-Men mansion.
A new fate awaits baby Nathan
Upon arrival at the X-Men mansion, baby Nathan is rushed to Beast's laboratory, where he warns that the virus is spreading rapidly and poses a threat to the infant's life since he was prematurely removed from the pod.
Beast also explains that current technology cannot save the baby.
The Goblin Queen gazes at Bishop and recalls his impending departure to the future. As Bishop is a time traveler, she implores him to take baby Nathan to a time where advanced technology and brilliant minds can aid him.
Scott is deeply affected by this decision, having experienced abandonment by his own father as a child. Reluctantly, he agrees to send his son to the future but cannot bear to witness it firsthand.
What fate awaits baby Nathan? Will he return as a child or as a fully grown adult? Or will he never come back? Tune in to upcoming episodes of 'X-Men '97' to uncover the answers.
