WWE star Sara Lee, 30, died by suicide after consuming lethal combo of alcohol and pills, autopsy reveals
HOPE TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN: Former WWE female wrestler, Sara Lee reportedly died after committing suicide, a new autopsy has revealed. The 30-year-old wrestler, who won the sixth season of WWE's reality show competition called 'Tough Enough', was found dead on October 6, 2022.
An autopsy report from the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office now revealed that Lee ingested a lethal combination of alcohol and pills and left "letters of intent at the scene" before her death. According to accounts, the former wrestler had abrasions and bruises on her body and head at the time of her death, which authorities believe were caused as a result of multiple falls while she was intoxicated, according to TMZ. Before her death, Lee shared a photo of herself in gym clothes on social media, where she mentioned that she was suffering from a sinus infection for the first time.

'I can’t promise that I will stop grieving'
Lee was wed to Cory Weston, better known in professional wrestling as Wesley Blake, and the two were parents to three kids, daughter Piper, 5, Son Brady, 3, and a newborn son. Following her death, Weston paid her a moving tribute with an emotional post, that read, "You were a motivator, a best friend, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, the backbone of our family, and (my favorite), my wife. I can’t promise that I will stop grieving but I know now, that you’re free. I can’t thank you enough for giving me the best years of my life so far."
The former WWE star's mother Terri announced the news on Facebook and said "We are all in shock" but the mother did not mention how the wrestler died, as MEAWW reported earlier "It is with heavy hearts we wanted to share that our Sara Weston has gone to be with Jesus," Terri wrote adding, "We are all in shock and arrangements are not complete. We ask that you respectfully let our family mourn. We all need prayers especially Cory and her children.”
The WWE organization also paid tribute to the late star, saying: "WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of Sara Lee. As a former 'Tough Enough' winner, Lee served as an inspiration to many in the sports-entertainment world. WWE offers its heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and fans."
Sara Lee’s professional wrestling career
Lee, who was raised in Hope Township, Michigan, competed in powerlifting throughout his high school years and then went on to study medical sonography at Delta College in Bay City. She participated in the WWE reality TV program, where she was chosen as the winner by fan vote and awarded a $250,000 (£198,000) contract for a year with the company. She quit the franchise in 2016 and trained with Team Vision Dojo in Orlando, Florida. Lee and Weston married in December 2017. Weston is an American professional wrestler currently working on the independent circuit, according to Daily Mail.
