'Worst Roommate Ever': Who are serial squatters? Killers, con-artists pretend to be kind roomies
A serial squatter is a person who fraudulently leases properties and continuously fails to pay the much overdue rent. In time, they are evicted but not before they plan their scheme in moving on to the next property and victim. Netflix's 'Worst Roommate Ever' is a four-part series revolving around four horrific stories of this particular context. What else do serial squatters do?
In most cases, they move into a home, bounce their first rent check, and then proceed to drag the eviction for months together. Some even trash the property and refuse to properly maintain their place of stay. Due to damage to property and/or inconveniences, the property owner is usually the one to be at the receiving end, more often than not. In the case of this Netflix documentary, the squatters' roommates were the targets.
