'Wonderful coincidence': Julianne Moore says she's 'absolutely thrilled' to meet Dennis Quaid after 21 years
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Julianne Moore and Dennis Quaid made most of their appearances on the 'Good Morning America' show. The stars of ‘Far From Heaven', which was released 21 years ago, were glad to see each other ‘after a while.’
Co-host Michael Strahan asked Moore, "We saw you earlier on our set with Dennis Quaid, your 'Far From Heaven' co-star. How did it feel to be reunited with him?"
"What a wonderful coincidence that we’re on the show on the same day," she replied, adding "We haven’t seen each other in years, and I was absolutely thrilled to see him. That was a long time ago. I was pregnant on that movie and my daughter’s now 21."
Julianne Moore excited about Dennis Quaid's musical album
The actress was asked about Quaid’s singing ability, and whether she knew at all. "I didn’t know he recorded a gospel album! So I’m going to buy it," Moore replied.
‘Far From Home’ was a major hit and won four Oscar nominations, including Best Actress for Moore. The other cast members include Dennis Haysbert, Patricia Clarkson, Viola Davis, and James Rebhorn.
In 2019, Moore told Yahoo Entertainment while reflecting on her career and making of ‘Far From Heaven,’ "I love Dennis Quaid. We had a great time together. It was pretty great."
The 62-year-old added, "I love Todd. I love him so much. We have a great working relationship, and I think just being with him every day, I was so happy every day going to work on that movie. Because it was such an incredible opportunity."
"There I was, playing a great character with a great director, at home — we shot it right outside of New York City — so it couldn't have been a better circumstance," she added.
Dennis Quaid on overcoming his addictions
Dennis Quaid recently talked about his struggle with drug addiction and how he overcame it.
“I'm grateful to still be here, I'm grateful to be alive really every day,” he told People, adding, "It's important to really enjoy your ride in life as much as you can because there's a lot of challenges and stuff to knock it down," he added.
On coming clean, the actor said, “[It] was about getting back to that.” Dennis Quaid is married to Laura Savoie, who is 39 years younger than him.
Some of his most popular movies include ‘Breaking Away,’ (1979), ‘The Right Stuff (1983), and ‘Great Balls of Fire!’ (1989).
