She's swinging on the thunderbolts and she's almost here. After facing numerous delays due to the crippling coronavirus, 'Wonder Woman 1984' is going to get a Christmas release. There is a lot to be excited about, Pedro Pascal and Chris Pine's Steve Trevor just being a few of them. Ever since the trailer and the teaser, fans have been wondering one thing: How is Steve Trevor in this film? As far as we remember, he died in the first film and a good seventy years have passed since then. And...Steve hasn't aged a day.

What's the secret? The first film revolved around the development of a deadly gas by German scientists, and while Diana (Gal Gadot) had to go to war with Ares (David Thewlis) for the fate of the human race, Steve stole a plane filled with bombs that contained the gas. A heroic Steve then flew the bomber out of danger's way, before detonating it (and killing himself) to remove the threat to humanity. Ares did his best to manipulate Diana’s grief over this sacrifice and to make her hate humanity,  but instead, it inspired her to do even more good for the world.

So, the question is did Steve Trevor REALLY die? Well, he did, sorry about that. We won't go into too many details but he has returned in the second film thanks to a set of rather complex reasons that might involve unworldly elements like...magic. Turns out, he won't stay for long and we have to say bye to him...again.

Fans are clearly not happy about this and are bawling their eyes out. They feel that he has been brought back just to be killed again. "they bring steve back for just to kill him again. Man this trailer is racking up views, I cant stop rewatching it," a fan wrote. "#WonderWoman1984 was so good!!!! I really can’t say the first one is better, Diana keeps melting my heart, Kristen Wiig steals the show, Pedro Pascal good as always and of course they made me cry like a baby with Steve," another tweeted. "It’s Diana Prince saying goodbye to Steve Trevor for me  #WonderWoman1984 #WW84," a fan wrote.

Others are saying that the couple, who in fact, get married in the comics, are separated for good this time and pretty busy cursing director Patty Jenkins for messing with their emotions once again. "Patty Jenkins did this to me twice. I’m so tired to watch Steve leave. Diana and Steve deserved better. #WonderWoman1984," one wrote.
