‘Never seen anything like it’: Woman celebrates 106th b’day with NAKED BUTLER and glass of bubbly

LINCOLN, UNITED KINGDOM: A cheeky 106-year-old woman was delighted to get a glass of champagne on her 106th birthday from a naked butler. Norah Shaw, who has three children, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, had joked about wanting a ‘hunky man’ for her special day. Her daughter then made the decision to fulfill her mother's wishes by hiring Eddy Betteridge, 32, of the Butlers in the Buff agency, to serve her afternoon tea and refreshments.

Norah, of Tennyson Wharf Care Home in Lincoln, was all smiles thanks to the superb service she received. According to Daily Mail, she said, “It was spontaneous, to say the least. Eddy was tall, had nice eyes, and was very attractive. He had no hair on his chest at all, which impressed me. I had never seen anything like it. It’s been a grown-up birthday. It’s been a very special birthday. It’s not every day you turn 21 – and a little bit. I was very shocked when he turned around because he had no underwear on. It was quite amusing. I had to keep checking, so I asked him to get some sandwiches.”

The chef at the care home baked her a chocolate birthday cake and cupcakes in the shape of 106. Along with that, she received more than 200 cards from around the country, too. Norah woke up at 5.30 am on her special day because she was so eager to celebrate her birthday. She said she’d had ‘the loveliest day’ and hoped everyone enjoyed my birthday as much as she did. On August 6, 1916, Nora was born in Manchester. In 1939, soon before the Second World War started, Norah met her late husband Harry Shaw, a bookkeeper, in a dance club in Manchester. They later got married. They had three children, Gill in 1955, Pamela Ingleby in 1952, and Kenneth Shaw in 1943. Sadly, her husband died of melanoma, or skin cancer, in 1994 at the age of 84.

However, Norah remained fiercely independent even after Harry's death. To stay close to Gill, she followed her around the UK when she was living alone, relocating to Scotland, Hertfordshire, Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire, and eventually Lincoln. Reflecting on her long life, Norah said, “I can’t reveal the secret of how I lived so long or it won’t be a secret!” Gill Shaw, 67, described her mother as ‘a little bit cheeky.’ She said, “I’m so proud of her. When she was 85, I thought we were not going to have many more birthdays, so I started doing special things for her. Here we are 21 years later, still celebrating. She’s been so supportive of me during my life and I think this is the least I can do for her. Our lives are very intertwined and I couldn’t live without her.”

Gill started to go all out for Norah after her 85th birthday, when she rented a yellow Rolls Royce and took her on a day trip to the Cotswolds, out of fear that they wouldn't be able to celebrate many more birthdays together. Gill also revealed that the mother and daughter earlier traveled to London for upscale afternoon tea at Claridge's in honor of Norah's 90th birthday. And for her 98th, they took a stretch limo to the Ritz in London where they were treated to tea and cookies.
