Wilmer Valderrama gets engaged to model Amanda Pacheco after utterly romantic proposal on New Year's Day
Actor Wilmer Valderrama got down on his knees on New Year's Day and proposed his girlfriend of nine months, model Amanda Pacheco, in a breathtaking moment that was filmed and shared on his Instagram page later on the same day.
"It's just us now" Valderrama, 39, romantically captioned the picture, which showed him kneeling on one knee on a rocky beach and gazing up at Pacheco, holding an engagement ring in a box in his hands. The moment arrived when the two of them were strolling through a beach in La Jolla, California.
While Pacheco, 28, wore a pretty floral gown for the big day, Valderrama opted for a long-sleeved shirt with jeans.
Although Pacecho's face was turned away from the camera, and it was difficult to make out her reaction from the angle, she left no doubts in the minds of both her and her beau's fans as she posted a picture of the enormous diamond ring resting on her ring finger as she held Wilmer's hands on her own Instagram page. The stunning locale of both the pictures was the same, with the waves glistening in the setting sun and white clouds dotting the blue skies behind.
The ring in question was a massive, pear-cut diamond set into a simple sparkling band.
The news that the pair was dating was first reported when they were seen shopping in Los Angeles in April 2019. "Wilmer always opens the door for Amanda and pays the bill. He definitely wants to make sure she feels taken care of," a source told E! News at the time. "Even if they are just doing simple things, they have a lot of fun and are always smiling. He definitely wants to make sure she feels taken care of."
Most recently, the couple enjoyed the winter break holiday in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico where they were spotted touring sand dunes on ATVs.
Before entering into a relationship with Pacheco, Valderrama dated Demi Lovato for six years before they split in 2016. The singer is reportedly supportive of his relationship with Pacheco. In the past, Valderrama has also dated Mandy Moore and Lindsay Lohan.
