William got angry after Meghan and Harry misled people about Archie’s birth, didn't meet them for days: Expert

'Harry and Meghan were resolute that their newborn baby's first sight of the world should not be the same insane and lethal camera-flashing that actually brought about the death of Diana'

A royal expert has claimed that after the birth of Archie, son of Meghan and Prince Harry, Prince William was frustrated as the Sussexes "deliberately misled" the public about the baby’s birth time. Robert Lacey has written in his book ‘Battle of Brothers: William and Harry – The Inside Story of a Family in Tumult’ that Archie was born at 5.26 am on May 5, 2019, but Buckingham Palace did not announce anything until 2 in the afternoon.

A statement from the palace that day suggested that Meghan had just gone into labor, but the truth was that she had already given birth to her son and was at home, Lacey stated as reported by The Sun. The adviser for Netflix's 'The Crown' wrote, “Harry and Meghan were resolute that their newborn baby's first sight of the world should not be the same insane and lethal camera-flashing that had attended — had actually brought about — the death of Diana."

But the author claimed that Meghan and Harry’s thoughts did not appeal to William, who felt that the two had "deliberately misled" the public. When the three kids of the Cambridges were born, the proud parents introduced them to the world on the steps of the Lindo Wing hours after their birth. However, unlike them, Meghan and Harry introduced Archie to the world's press two days after his birth in Windsor.

Lacey said that William was also angry because he did not understand the reason why he had to wait to meet his nephew. The 38-year-old allegedly didn't meet Archie for eight days. “The Queen, Prince Philip, Charles and Camilla all turned up within hours to coo over the baby. And it seemed strange that, when the Cambridges did finally pitch up more than a week later, they didn’t bring along George, Charlotte and Louis to welcome their new cousin,” the expert added.

Earlier, a royal expert stated that the two royal brothers can now only be together if an “awful tragedy” happens. Ingrid Seward told the Mirror's ‘Pod Save The Queen’ podcast that the relationship between William and Harry has been severely damaged after the 36-year-old and his former actress wife left the palace to start a new life in the US. Seward claimed, “I rather doubt that they will ever get back to how they used to be. I really don't think so. I think that's probably a broken relationship. I think perhaps if something happened to Catherine or Meghan, the boys would be together again. But as long as their ladies are there and their families are there... If there was an awful tragedy it would bring them together, but otherwise I don't think that relationship will be mended. But that is a really personal point of view and I might not be right.”

Lacey said that Meghan created the differences between William and Harry. Besides, he also claimed that the 39-year-old was a “massive problem” for the royals. “Meghan was a massive problem for the royal family. It's easy to be wise after the event. Here's a self-made woman. A self-made millionaire, the only one in the royal family who's made her own money, created her own celebrity and not inherited it,” the 76-year-old added.
