Will Zayn Malik be arrested? Yolanda Hadid says singer struck her, may file complaint
Yolanda Hadid claimed that she was physically "struck" by Zayn Malik during an argument after the singer allegedly accused Yolanda of “leaking” the couple’s pregnancy news last year. 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star is allegedly "seriously considering" filing a police report over the incident.
After it was reported that Yolanda, 57, is considering filing a police report, the former One Direction star denied her accusations, stating their exchange was simply "harsh words." TMZ reported that Yolanda claimed she was "struck" by Zayn during an altercation at "some point last week". There are no other details of what might have triggered the alleged scuffle between the pair. The outlet mentioned that Yolanda "stands by her account" of the incident and her "inclination is to file a police report." However, as of Thursday, October 28, there is no record of Yolanda filing any police report against Zayn. A source said, "Yolanda is of course very protective of Gigi. She wants the best for her daughter and grandchild."

Zayn denies getting physical
The 'Pillow Talk' singer, who shares one-year-old daughter Khai, with Yolanda's daughter, Gigi Hadid, has claimed the incident involved nothing more than an exchange of "harsh words" and took place "several weeks ago" at Gigi's home in Pennsylvania.
In his statement, the former One Direction star said that the "private matter" being made public has made it difficult for the estranged couple to reach the "safe space" in which he and Gigi "will co-parent" their daughter. Although he did not explicitly say it, the language suggested that they are no longer together. Instead of naming Yolanda directly in his lengthy Twitter post, Zayn referred to her as "a family member of my partner's" as he expressed concern for protecting Khai's privacy moving forward.
In a further statement released to TMZ, he said he hoped the reality star will "reconsider her false allegations". He said: "I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private." He wrote in a Notes app message: “As you all know, I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart. In an effort to protect that space for her I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago.”
The pop star continued: “This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now, there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been ‘leaked’ to the press. I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly, I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves.”
Will Zayn get arrested?
It is important to note that by definition, “struck” means to “hit forcibly and deliberately with one’s hand or a weapon or other implement.” This implies that an argument escalated into Zayn using physical force. As a result, it is highly likely that Zayn might be arrested if Yolanda decides to press charges against him and evidence related to the allegations is discovered after an investigation is launched into the same.
In Pennsylvania, misdemeanor simple assault involves intentionally, knowingly or recklessly inflicting bodily injury on another, attempting to do so, or putting someone in fear of imminent bodily injury, according to Criminal Defense Lawyer website. Simple assault committed in the course of a fight entered into by mutual consent is a third-degree misdemeanor, punishable by imprisonment up to one year and a fine of up to $2,500.
There have not been any publicly known problems between Yolanda and Zayn before this incident. In a statement, a representative for Gigi told E! News: "Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time."
