'Moon Knight' Season 2: Kang the Conqueror rumored to make an appearance in Oscar Isaac-starrer series

It seems like Kang will be back to rule and prove his name as the 'Conqueror'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Disney+ series 'Moon Knight' changed the narrative of how Marvel proceeds with its series. Unlike 'WandaVision', 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier', 'Loki', 'What If...?', and 'Hawkeye' the Oscar Isaac-starrer 'Moon Knight' chose a different route, much different than how Marvel usually does things, and have introduced many characters that weren't ever described or even featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel sure took its sweet time to write and envision its characters in 'Moon Knight', where the lead antagonist is Oscar Isaac and the villain is played by Ethan Hawke

Season 1 of 'Moon Knight' ended on a cliffhanger, and while fans are desperately waiting for the second season to drop, it seems like the time between the two seasons is being used up by fans to find possible references for the upcoming season; Kang the Conqueror's feature being the first.

When will 'Moon Knight' Season 2 release?

There is no confirmed date as of now, but with MCU entering Phase 5, it seems like every MCU series on Disney+ will take a brief pause before coming out with a confirmed date. When talking to Entertainment Weekly, the President of Marvel Studios - Kevin Feige shared his thoughts on the topic and said, "I do think one of the powerful aspects of being at Marvel Studios is having these films and shows hit the zeitgeist," Feige shared. "It is harder to hit the zeitgeist when there's so much product out there – and so much 'content,' as they say, which is a word that I hate. [Laughs] But we want Marvel Studios and the MCU projects to really stand out and stand above. So, people will see that as we get further into Phase 5 and 6. The pace at which we're putting out the Disney+ shows will change so they can each get a chance to shine." according to Entertainment Weekly

A subtle reference to Kang the Conqueror

In Episode 3 of 'Moon Knight' titled 'The Friendly Type', we see Marc Spector fighting with some of the followers of Ethan Hawke's Arthur Harrow, you can quickly and briefly see that one of the followers has an image on the back of his jacket. That image is an uncanny resemblance to Rama-Tut. Now, if you're familiar with the storyline of Kang the Conqueror, Rama-tut was a technological variant of Kang, who went back in time to try his hands at becoming a ruler and became a Pharoah in ancient Egypt. Rama-Tut used futuristic technology to remake himself as Kang the Conqueror. Through Kang's extensive abuse of time, he has appeared as variants a multitude of times. Kang made his debut in 'Avengers #8' (1964), traveling back to the 20th century to try his hand at world conquest. The time-traveling villain became a frequent nemesis of the 'Avengers', and the Marvel Universe at large. Now, that there is a subtle reference to Kang in 'Moon Knight', it seems like Kang will be back to rule and prove his name as the 'Conqueror'.

Will Kang the Conqueror make an appearance in Season 2?

Now, that is a great question, and even though we desperately want the strongest villain to make an appearance opposite Marc Spector aka Moon Knight. But, it does seem inevitable and will happen sooner or later. Every story needs a villain, even though it doesn't appear that way, but Kang seems like someone who would definitely be part of the conversation similar to our world-saving miscreant, Thanos. The assumptions are that we might see a glimpse of Rama-Tut in the upcoming season, and that would be a sign that an evil fiend is lurking out there with the benefit of taking up many forms to confuse our heroes.
