"She has trouble walking and is at the mercy of loud noises that trigger spasms, which make her susceptible to failing. Her back has become hunched and her muscle spasms are, at times, unbearable," sources further claimed.

However, sources also noted, “She’s refusing to accept defeat,” adding that the singer has been eating healthy, undergoing physiotherapy and meditating.

However, medical professionals have indicated that the illness would continue to maintain a tight grip on Dion's physical well-being and mental state.

What is Stiff Person Syndrome (SPP)?

Stiff person syndrome is distinguished by muscle rigidity, spasms, an increased sensitivity to stimuli like sound and light, and emotional distress that can trigger muscle spasms, per the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

Initially, the disorder often manifests with muscle stiffness in the central part of the body, encompassing the trunk and abdomen, before progressing to stiffness and spasms affecting the legs and other muscle groups, per the Cleveland Clinic.
