Reports initially surfaced in May indicating that James Marsden's Cyclops, Famke Janssen's Jean Grey, and Halle Berry's Storm would make appearances, giving the movie a mutant crossover feel akin to ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’. Now, rumors are circulating that Ben Affleck, another actor with connections to Marvel movies, might also be involved in 'Deadpool 3'.

On one hand, Twitter user KC Walsh, also known as @TheComixKid shared, "I have no idea who he is playing just that he was on set." On the other hand, the Twitter account One Take News shared the same rumor, writing, "Ben Affleck is rumoured to be in ‘DEADPOOL 3’, possibly reprising his role as Matt Murdock".

Although Walsh is unsure about the character Affleck will be portraying, if any, the mere mention of his presence on the film set has sparked speculation that he may be reprising his role as Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, whom he portrayed in the 2003 movie 'Daredevil'. While Walsh acknowledged the likelihood of this possibility in a separate tweet, there is currently no available information to confirm or verify these rumors.

Considering the chances of Ben Affleck just coincidentally being in the United Kingdom and visiting the 'Deadpool 3' set, it wouldn't be surprising if his portrayal of Daredevil crossed paths with the merc with the mouth. Given the rumors of the potential involvement of other iconic characters from the original 'X-Men' trilogy from the ‘Fantastic Four’ (2005) film, it seems plausible that Affleck's 'Daredevil', being a hero from the Fox-era films, could join the mix.
The Marvel Universe has no chill
MCU has been releasing one blockbuster after another for years now. Released on February 14, 2003, just a few months before ‘X2: X-Men United’, the ‘Daredevil’ movie starring Ben Affleck featured the introduction of Jennifer Garner as Elektra and clashed with Michael Clarke Duncan's character Kingpin and Colin Farrell's character Bullseye. Garner later reprised her role in a spinoff film, while plans for a ‘Daredevil’ sequel ultimately fell through. Over a decade later, Charlie Cox took over the role of ‘Daredevil’ for the TV series. Affleck went on to portray Batman in the DC Extended Universe, with his final appearance as the caped crusader being in the recently-released film, ‘The Flash’.
‘Deadpool 3’, scheduled for release on May 3, 2024, boasts a cast filled with familiar faces reprising their previous roles as well as newcomers. However, it was revealed by Zazie Beetz that she won't be reprising her role as Domino in the upcoming film.
