Why was Soulja Boy banned from Twitch?
The exact reason for Soulja Boy's Twitch ban is not known as the company has not issued a statement regarding the same. It is, however, known that he was banned from streaming for the first time on December 10. Within five minutes the ban was lifted before being imposed again. Since then, the rapper's account has remained banned on the platform and the artist has not been able to post anything all this time and his fans continue to wonder what the situation is. It is also unclear whether any ban might be temporary or permanent, or which regulations the rapper may have broken.
Soulja Boy has been getting himself into trouble ever since he started streaming on Twitch in 2018. He has also criticized streamers leaving Twitch for YouTube as he took credit for the popularity of the platform. He even started selling his own console. Some of his followers have chalked up the first ban to a copyright infringement based on his own music. Others attributed the second ban to slurs that were spoken during the stream. A number of them argued that he was banned for giving away subscriptions during The Game Awards which were taking place at the time.
"@Twitch how can you literally ban one of your biggest rappers on the platform without any reason? Soulja I'm counting down till this court case," one of his fans said, while another noted, "Make your own streaming platform I’ll make content on there everyday." A third commented, "first to sue twitch bro you the goat." The next remarked, "@Twitch please bring him back please im not joking please." One more commented, "Yeah man after all you were the first rapper on twhitch back when it was justin .tv." A commenter tweeted, "Is like dr disrespect all over again." A person reacted with, "Just go stream on youtube its not that big of a deal lmao." Another quipped, "If soulja is against twitch, IM against twitch."
