Why was Kevin Costner at Taylor Swift's concert? 'Yellowstone' star 'absolutely blown away' by Eras tour
INGLEWOOD, LOS ANGELES. As his divorce saga with estranged wife Christine Baumgartner unfolds, Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Costner embraced a special moment of father-daughter bonding. Stepping away from the courtroom, the actor treated his 13-year-old daughter, Grace Avery, to an unforgettable evening at Taylor Swift's mesmerizing concert held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
Sharing the experience on social media, Costner, 68, posted a series of videos and images from the concert, recounting the joyous time spent with his daughter amidst Swift's, 33, magnetic performance. "My videos are blurry, but I had an amazing time with my daughter at the @taylorswift show. I was absolutely blown away watching her art bring so many people together," he claimed.

Why was Kevin Costner at Taylor Swift's concert?
In a luxury suite within the stadium, Costner and his daughter Grace enjoyed Swift's captivating rendition of her renowned breakup song 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together'. While Grace joyfully sang along and danced to the music, Costner observed the lyrics with a subtle grin, appreciating the emotional resonance of the performance.
"I had a great view of her band and had a blast watching them, too. An inspiring night. I’m officially a Swiftie!" Costner added. His attendance joins a roster of notable celebrities who have graced Swift's sold-out Eras Tour, including Paula Abdul, Josh Gad, Vince Vaughn, Gigi Hadid, Mark Zuckerberg, Simu Liu, Eddie Vedder, Max Greenfield, and Julia Roberts, among many others.
Drawing a parallel with the musical realm, Costner is no stranger to captivating audiences. Since 2007, he has led his band, Kevin Costner & Modern West, to release their fourth studio album, 'Tales from Yellowstone', in 2020. The album, conceived as a concept piece from the perspective of his character from the neo-Western TV series 'Yellowstone', reflects Costner's own musical prowess.
"We’re coming up on the 3rd anniversary of our #TalesFromYellowstone album. The band and I had so much fun making and playing this project for you guys," he posted to Instagram in June, adding that he's looking "forward to getting the band back together for more music soon."
A glimpse into the pair's complex split
Costner's appearance at the concert comes in the midst of his ongoing divorce proceedings with Christine. The former couple, married for 18 years, filed for divorce on May 1. Amid the separation, the family's $145 million Santa Barbara compound has been a subject of attention, with moving trucks spotted and property arrangements being made.
“Christine is following the legal advice per the prenup and is vacating the family house," a source said, adding that she "will stay at a smaller house on the property that’s been used as a staff quarter." Despite the challenges, Christine embarked on a vacation to Hawaii with her daughter Grace in July shortly after she was awarded $129,000 per month in child support from Costner.
