It's bad enough that the world is still recovering from the coronavirus-induced pandemic, but now some believe zombies will invade China in 2022. Despite the fact that there is little evidence to suggest they are even remotely real, several netizens have reportedly expressed concern about a new online trend. TikTok was awash with theories about zombies in China in August 2022.

Many people believed that the end of the world was near. The confusion appeared to stem from a bogus article published in 2021 that mentioned China as the likely birthplace of a zombie apocalypse.

Many people want to relocate to Mars or another distant planet, as long as they can survive the dead and a rumored virus that will cause a zombie outbreak. Meanwhile, panicked TikTokers are desperate for answers as theories about a looming doomsday make the rounds on the platform. But this is just a complicated misunderstanding.

According to what several content creators have shared on the platform, the confusion has its roots in a bogus article from 2021 about a zombie apocalypse that will "most likely begin in China." The plot alludes to Max Brooks' novel 'World War Z', which chronicles the fictional Zombie World War.

However, many appear to have ignored the fact that the Zombie outbreak is a work of fiction, instead assuming that a virus outbreak will swallow the world in 2022.

There is no evidence that zombies exist, despite the fact that the myth has found its way into modern literature and media. For the uninitiated, a zombie is an undead flesh-eating corpse that has either been infected with the virus or has been bitten by another zombie.

While there may never be a real-life incident or event to explain the zombie apocalypse, movies and shows like 'The Walking Dead' and 'Zombieland' depict a world dominated by the dead while the living fight for survival. In an apocalyptic world, books like 'Monster Land', 'Handling the Undead', and 'The End Games' also navigate the battle of the dead versus the undead.

Many people quickly realized that the fear of zombies was irrational, but others are having fun with the imaginary scenario of being attacked by the awakened corpses.

One user commented, “I’m moving to the damn moon.”

“What! All those zombie apocalypse jokes jinxed us,” wrote another.

One wrote, “Oh lord please tell me this isn’t real. I am googling how to move to Mars.”

On Twitter, one user quipped, "You never knew that China was building a brand new Great Wall... a great Barbed Wire Wall. It's multi purpose.. keeps the zombies locked in." Another wrote, "BRO NO WAY ON HELL IS THERE ZOMBIES IN OHIO AND IN CHINA AND MONKEYPOX TOO IM MOVING OUT THE SOLAR SYSTEM BYE." A third chimed in, "Tiktok just scared the sh*t out of me because people said there were zombies in China and I did my research obvi and all it said was that it ain't true god damn."
