McRib, the most on-and-off food item on the McDonald's menu which a lot of McDonald's fans like, is back again on the menu. However, McDonald's announcement indicated that this might be the last time the iconic pork sandwich would be on its menu. "It's Back!" read the announcement regarding the 52-calorie pork patty sandwich. "The McRib is back! It starts with seasoned boneless pork dipped in a tangy BBQ sauce, topped with slivered onions and dill pickles, all served on a toasted homestyle bun. When everything combines you have BBQ pork sandwich perfection," the announcement read, according to the website.

However, the next part of the announcement caught the attention of many fans, which was followed by an official tweet from McDonald's. "Get one while you can because this is the McRib Farewell Tour," reads the announcement. Many are now speculating whether McDonald's would be removing the sandwich from its menu for good.

McDonald's McRib is a limited-time dish that is brought by the fast food giant every year for about a month-long period. However, this year, the announcement seems to be a little different, with no promise for it to return. As McDonald's announced the "farewell tour" of the snack, fans of the sandwich had all sorts of reactions, including their own speculations as to why is McDonald's possibly taking the step.

The McDonald's official account tweeted, "The mcrib is coming back 10.31 but this is its farewell tour," inviting lots of reactions from the fans.

Some fans were devastated at the news as one user wrote, "If you don’t continue to bring it back yearly I will have nothing to look forward to in my life anymore and will have no choice but to end my own life You will have my blood on your hands instead of the sweet yet tangy bbq sauce I know and love."

Another one wrote, "Nobody ever says goodbye unless they want to see you again." To which, one user replied, "I saw the notification for this tweet and thought “wow what a profound thought” until I realized what this was a reply to." Another user humorously said, "We're grieving have some respect."

Another one of the McRib fans was in denial as they replied to McDonald's tweet, "Come on, now…it has to come back every year! I ❤️ McRib!" along with a gif of shaking McRib. To the same, McDonald's also replied, "This gif is making me emotional."

There were plenty of social media accounts that wished for the return of the popular sandwich, including some of the popular and commercial accounts like SlimJim and Target. While one of the Twitter users replied with the Drake meme comparing Snack Wraps and McRib, another user replied to the meme by saying, "This. The snack wraps were legit good, and I'm tired how 99% of new menu items is just packing stuff together they already had, or saying they have 3 versions the quarter pounder by adding bacon to one."

SlimJim also responded, "Does this mean the snack wrap is coming back." To which, McDonald's clarified that they are just responsible for managing the social media account as the account replied, "I just run the twitter slim jim".

Target reacted by saying, "Is the snack wrap a surprise guest star." To which, McDonald's had a dramatic response as they replied, "Not u too Target twitter account."

While commenting on the reason behind the removal of McRib, a user sarcastically replied with a meme of a Simpson clown with text on it that read, "Look, Uh, About the McRib: There aren't going to be anymore. The animal we made them from is now extinct." The meme was a reference from an actual scene from the show where the Simpsons yet again "foretold" the event while mentioning ribwich.

Some Twitter users also said that they think this is not the last time McRib will be on the menu as they had announced a "farewell tour" back in 2005. As the TV showrunner Bill Oakley tweeted, "If you believe this "Farewell Tour" is actually the end of McRib, I have a Mexican Pizza and a Wingstop Chicken Sandwich and Brooklyn Bridge to sell you", another user replied, "It all comes full circle, the McRib is the king of creating demand out of removing a menu item. And it's not even the first time they've called it a "Farewell Tour" as they did this already in 2005!"

Either way, one thing is for sure, McRib will be available in outlets from October 31 till November 20 and those will be the 10 days McRib fans will be able to avail it from the McDonald's delivery app for the year 2022.
