Why are Twice fans mad at JYPE? Internet says K-pop group made 'company 10x richer', deserves better treatment
JYP Entertainment has angered fans majorly with a number of issues as disappointed fans took it to Twitter to share their wish of freeing the popular K-pop band Twice from JYP. The first issue surfaced with the Hanbok controversy where designer and visual director Kim Balko took it to Twitter to share a clip of the recent video of Twice’s Dahyun and Chaeyoung on a cover of ‘Switch to Me’ by Rain and JY Park.
The designer shared the clip where Dahyun is wearing something very similar to Blackpink Jisoo’s Hanbok with the caption "Ehhng??!! My custom design work is in a video that I didn't participate in??!!"
Soon after the post, JYP Entertainment addressed the outfit plagiarizing issue and put out a statement saying, "Regarding the outfit seen in Dahyun and Chaeyoung's Melody Project video, this hanbok piece was purchased through a hanbok distributor; nonetheless, we were not able to properly recognize its similarity to others' work. We would like to sincerely apologize for this mistake."
Why was ‘FreeTwice’ and ‘JYPEOUT’ trending?
Fans did not take the statement well as they feel that JYPE should have been more careful with the issue along with alleging that JYP Entertainment is trying to cash in on the popularity of Twice by creating more groups but not treating Twice fairly.

Fans also shared that Twice members are trying to be with their fans, Once as much as they can. A fan said, “tzuyu going on vlive, dayeon tiktoks being posted, members on bubble, dropping teaser of sana’s collab hours before the release... they are trying so hard to calm us down #FREETWICE.”
Another shared, “I was like "Okay, the vibes feel like before GOT7 leaving JYPE". Leader in disappointment. I like it!” A user noted, “I don't follow Twice closely but they are all very talented and I like their songs. This they just did is disrespectful towards Dahyun and Chaeyoung's work. absolute disappointed!”
