AUSTIN, TEXAS: Popular Twitch streamer Matthew "Mizkif" who is known for his controversial content, recently faced another ban from the platform during one of his live streams. This incident has left his dedicated fan base wondering the reason behind the OTK member's ban. Mizkif, who recently inked a deal with Rumble, has a track record of multiple suspensions in 2023 alone.

Although the specific cause for his ban remains undisclosed. It appears that Mizkif received a DMCA strike, likely due to streaming copyrighted material, resulting in an immediate ban during the live broadcast.

'You’re asking for your own demise as a platform'

Mizkif a prominent Twitch streamer and member of OTK, faced an unexpected ban on Wednesday, June 7, rendering his channel inaccessible on the Amazon-owned platform. Instead of his usual content, visitors were greeted with a message, “Content from this channel has been removed at the request of the copyright holder.”

Mizkif has encountered a prior ban due to a DMCA strike, which took place in February 2023. In a subsequent revelation, the streamer disclosed that the ban was a result of him watching a TLC reality show, implicating copyright infringement. Interestingly, a Twitter user named @forestm555 shed light on the recent suspension, suggesting that Mizkif was engaged in a similar activity when the ban occurred. The tweet expressed frustration towards Twitch, criticizing the platform for seemingly applying double standards. According to the tweet, other creators who engaged in similar behavior allegedly did not receive copyright strikes, implying inconsistency in enforcement. The user wrote, "Can’t count how many times I’ve seen other streamers watching reality tv shows. Yet Mizkif gets the ban. You’re asking for your own demise as a platform at this point."



 

'Mizkif deserves the ban'

Following the ban on Twitch, Mizkif has temporarily shifted his streaming activities to Rumble. While the duration of the ban remains uncertain, the streamer attempted to divert the attention of his fans from the ongoing controversy by sharing an adorable cat picture. This gesture provided an opportunity for Mizkif's dedicated followers to express their sentiments regarding the ban, offering their support and opinions.

One user wrote, "Ban Mizkif again then it's a complete W." Another wrote, "MIZKIF BAN LMFAOFOAFOAOFOAOFAOFOA."



 



 

'Dan is going to be making a positive impact'

Twitch recently announced a set of updated guidelines for branded content, which are scheduled to take effect on July 1. These guidelines bring forth a range of restrictions concerning the types of advertisements that streamers can showcase. Notably, the use of "burned-in" video, audio, and display ads will be prohibited. Additionally, the guidelines limit on-stream overlays to occupy a maximum of only 3% of the screen size.

Mizkif announced in a YouTube video on Wednesday, June 7, that he had engaged in a lengthy phone call with Clancy, the CEO of the company. Mizkif expressed his confidence that the CEO by saying, "And I do believe that Dan is going to be making a positive impact on the future of Twitch.” He stated that Dan actively listened to his feedback and took into account his opinions. Mizkif further expressed his hope that Dan's appointment marked the beginning of numerous positive changes for the website. He emphasized the importance of Twitch listening to its creators and viewers to enhance the overall viewing experience, reminiscent of his own positive experiences on the platform back in 2013.
