Why did LA school drop lawsuit against Kevin Federline? Britney Spears' ex-husband gets relief over non-payment of daughters' tuition fee
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The lawsuit against Britney Spears’s ex-husband Kevin Federline was dropped by the Los Angeles-based private school West Valley Christian School on Wednesday, August 16.
Per Page Six, while it is unclear why the school has dropped the lawsuit, Federline will now be free from the civil suit accusing him of an overdue of $15,000 school tuition fee.

The representative lawyer for the preparatory school, Ron Chow, filed for the dismissal of the suit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday.
The court has, however, dismissed the case “with prejudice”, restricting the school from filing any future suit with the same claim. The court has also dropped a non-jury trial which was scheduled for November 5, 2024.
It is, however, unclear whether the outstanding balance of $15,593 has been paid by Federline and his wife, Victoria Prince, or a mutual settlement has been drawn.
On May 9, when the school initially filed for the motion, they alleged that the couple had failed “to pay for services which had been provided on credit at their special instance and request.”
The school authorities further claimed that they tried to avoid going to court. Since Federline and Prince “failed and refused … to pay all or any part of the remaining balance due,” they had to file the lawsuit.
The outstanding balance was for the education of Federline’s two daughters with his current wife Victoria Prince, 40 - Jordan, 12, and Peyton, nine. He recently celebrated his 10th anniversary with his wife Prince, whom he wedded in 2013.
Federline is also a father to four more children. With his former fiancée Shar Jackson, 46, he is father to daughter Kori, 21, and son Kaleb, 19. He was married to the Grammy-winning songstress Britney Spears from 2004 to 2007. The former couple are parents to two sons - Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden, 16.

When Federline and Prince relocated to Hawaii earlier in August, Spears supported the move. Per Page Six, Spears consented the relocation of her two sons to Hawaii from their native state of California.
The West Valley Christian School’s request of dismissing the lawsuit against Federline came on the same day as Spears’s current husband Sam Asghari’s filing for divorce.
Asghari, 29, filed a divorce from Spears, 41, in Los Angeles County court, citing “irreconcilable difference.”
Federline, through his lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan, issued a statement last week regarding Spears’s divorce. Kaplan was found saying to Entertainment Tonight, “He wishes them both the best," per Daily Mail.
He continued, “If they reconcile, great, but hopefully it won't be a factor that makes her feel more alienated than she might otherwise be if she was still in an intact marriage.”
The lawyer added that Federline “wishes her the best and hopes that things work out for her for the best.”
