Why did Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann call off divorce? 'RHOA' stars decide to give marriage another try
Kim Zolciak, 45, has filed to halt the legal dissolution of her marriage with 38-year-old Kroy Biermann. The couple has decided to give their relationship another chance amidst all the nastiness between the two. Both Kim and Kroy filed petitions on Friday and the former requested that the case be dismissed "without prejudice."
Although Kroy has yet to file his own dismissal, TMZ sources indicate that he intends to do so soon. The couple had filed for divorce in May after being married for 11 years. Their marriage was documented on the Bravo reality show and spinoff series ‘Don't Be Tardy’.
From conflict to cool down
According to an insider, the situation between the 'RHOA' stars is improving as they are now "getting along," after which Kim decided to "call it off." A source according to People, further revealed, "They're trying to make it work for the kids."
The divorce proceedings had been accompanied by public financial struggles and escalating conflict between Kim and Kroy. Serious allegations were made against each other, including drug abuse, physical and mental abuse, kidnapping, and gambling addiction.

Despite the turmoil, Kim and Kroy presented a united front by attending church together with their four biological children and Kim's two older daughters whom Kroy had adopted from her previous relationship. Family and friends have been supportive of their decision to work on their marriage, emphasizing the importance of staying together for the sake of their family and personal happiness.
It’s not over yet
Previously, Kroy Biermann alleged that his estranged wife, Kim Zolciak, spent a significant amount of time and money on online gambling, which has negatively impacted their family's financial situation. He requested a mental evaluation for Kim. According to Kroy, Kim confessed to him about her excessive involvement in online gambling and other games of chance.
In addition to their financial troubles, Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann also faced significant tax debts. Legal documents obtained by TMZ reveal that the couple owes a substantial $1.1 million to the IRS for unpaid taxes, interest, and penalties from the years 2013, 2017, and 2018. Furthermore, they owed the state of Georgia $15,000 in unpaid taxes for the year 2018.
Keeping behind the bad days, Shereé Whitfield, a longtime friend and former co-star of Kim Zolciak on ‘RHOA’, expressed her optimism about a potential reconciliation between Kim and Kroy. During an interview on Page Six's ‘Virtual Reali-Tea’ podcast, Shereé shared “Just because you filed — because we … saw the love they had for each other — that doesn’t mean that it’s over." She also hoped that they would seek counseling or take further steps to work things out. Shereé emphasized her desire to see a positive outcome for the couple and their future together.
