MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE: Drake, the 36-year-old Toronto native and renowned musician, has regrettably canceled his scheduled show at the FedExForum in Memphis. The event was initially planned for August 6 at the home of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies. According to Ticketmaster's statement reported by Memphis Commercial Appeal, the cancellation came as a result of logistical issues at the venue.

Representatives for Drake, whose full name is Aubrey Drake Graham, conveyed that the decision to cancel was due to the sheer scale and complexity of the production involved in the concert. They claimed "Due to the magnitude of the production of the Drake concert, it is logistically impossible to bring the show as designed to the FedExForum on August 6th. Unfortunately, the show is canceled."

‘First place I discovered what I love about music’

Regarding the cancellation of the Drake concert at the FedExForum in Memphis, Ticketmaster has assured concertgoers that they will receive refunds, which will be processed back to their original method of payment. The show in question was initially scheduled for June 29, as part of Drake's ‘It's All a Blur’ Tour, where he was set to perform alongside 21 Savage. However, the event was postponed before it could take place. It's worth noting that around that time, Drake was in the area and received a ceremonial key in Shelby County on June 27, as reported by the newspaper.

Drake has a personal connection to Memphis, as his father, Dennis Graham, hails from the city and is a renowned drummer. Drake said at a ceremony, talking about the city, “It’s really the first place I discovered what I love about music, which was the soul, the melody and the message in the lyrics."

Another canceled show in Memphis

In addition to the cancellation in Memphis, there is another update regarding Drake's tour. The rapper's show originally scheduled for August 3 in Milwaukee at the Fiserv Forum has been postponed by a day and will now take place on August 4.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the reason for the delay was technical in nature and directly connected to the venue. An email sent to concertgoers explained that the decision to push back the show was due to the extensive scale of the production involved. In order to ensure that the entire production and the best version of the show could be brought to Milwaukee, the show was rescheduled for August 4, as reported by the newspaper.
