Whoopi Goldberg urges viewers to 'wait till you get all the information' as she talks about Lizzo allegations on 'The View'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Grammy-winning singer Lizzo was recently accused of sexual harassment and body-shaming, making headlines around the world. Lizzo, who advocates for body positivity, faced immense scrutiny, and on August 3, she defended herself on Instagram.
‘The View' is currently in the final days of its 26th season, and Lizzo was quick to become part of the 'Hot Topics' segment. Alyssa Farah Griffin, who has long been a fan of Lizzo, struggled to hide her bias, but Whoopi Goldberg had something to say to all viewers.
Whoopi Goldberg visibly struggled over Lizzo segment
Goldberg, who moderated the segment on Thursday (August 3), looked at her cue card a little shocked as she read out to her co-hosts, “Three dancers who are suing Lizzo over allegations of sexual harassment and hostile work environment spoke out this morning about what they say they experienced. There’s a clip.” ‘The View’ then proceeds to play a clip by CNN, where the three dancers - Crystal Williams, Arianna Davis, and Noelle Rodriguez - spoke about their horrid experiences with Lizzo. As the clip ends, Goldberg turned back to her cue cards as she struggled to speak, “So, uh...the…Lizzo put out a statement that said this is not correct, this is not true, but these are allegations, so your thoughts.” There was a moment of silence before Griffin who said she had to “check her bias” because she was a Lizzo fan, and also admitted to having a bad day over this news.

‘Once it's out there, it’s there for life’
As Sara Haines, Joy Behar, and Sunny Hostin all chimed in with their viewpoints, Goldberg remained silent as she listened to her co-host discuss Lizzo and the allegations. Towards the end of the segment, Goldberg finally spoke up, “You know, when it comes to, listen – you can be a bonehead and be a great person at the same time, both things are true, can’t say the word, but it starts with an A, and do great things, I don’t know what happened.” Goldberg continued as she pointed at Behar, who previously said that the truth will come out when the case goes to court, “as you said, we’ll find out when it comes into the wash, that’s what we need to keep in mind.” As Griffin and Behar started another discussion, Goldberg interrupted them as she brought the segment to an end, “Well, we’ll find out when it all comes out in the wash. But always wait until you get all the information because as we know, people throw things out there. Once it's out there, it’s there for life. So no matter whether it did or did not happen, you’re carrying that with you. We’ll see what happens.”
