'Just when we had the frontrunners circled in, you come in to change the game. You are the gamechanger,' Ken Jeong said to the Yeti whose voice guarantees he's a professional singer
'The Masked Singer' introduced its third and final wild card masked celebrity this season. The Yeti made his way to the Season 5 stage on Wednesday night's, April 14, episode titled 'In the Nick Of Time!'. The first note he sang was enough for the judges to understand that they had a professional singer on stage. The wild cards can only advance in the show if they outperform the original contestants and at the end of the episode, it was revealed that Yeti had successfully taken Orca's place in the show. The singer in the killer whale costume was revealed as Mark McGrath.
The Yeti gives off a ladies' man vibe from the clue package. That coupled with his velvet-smooth voice and slick dance moves definitely helped him cement his position in the game. The masked celebrity disguised as the cuddly abominable snowman costume is definitely a professional singer and he's already become a favorite of the judges. All clues about the Yeti so far
"As a Yeti, I only come out of hiding for a mammoth reason, and here's its to be a loud force to be reckoned with so watch your step. Where I come from, too many Yetis become monsters but I had a secret weapon. A village of loyal women who were always there to show me the way. Having them as motivators and teachers made me the abominable gentleman I am today. Knowing these warriors have my back gave me the confidence to go for the mountaintop when others wouldn't even dare. Yetis are usually chased from the village but I was raised by it. Being here is a thank you to them, and you know they saved the best wild card for the last, yeah," the Yeti said in the clue package.
Clues that the Yeti is Omarion
Yeti sang 'If It Isn't Love' by New Edition and was so perfect while delivering the performance that the judges couldn't stop with the praise. "Just when we thought we had the frontrunners circled in, you come in and change the game. You are a frontrunner," Ken Jeong said after all judges agreed on the fact that they had "a professional in the building." The celebrity who fits the bill, given the clues that were revealed on the episode point towards R&B boyband Boys of the New Millenium (B2K) singer Omarion.
The Yeti was lugged onto the stage in a giant snowy cage. One of the biggest hits by Omarion till date remains to be 'Ice Box'. Could this be what the entry symbolized? Only time will tell. Also one of the visual clues in the package included a berry and jelly sandwich and the unusual snack could be a reference to Omarion's birth name: Omari Ishmael Grandberry. Another clue was three cupcakes and it could be a reference to the three official albums released in by the band in the early 2000s namely: 'B2K', 'Hooked Me Up', and 'Pandemonium'.
The other guesses by the judges panel also included Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian's ex Ray J. Share your thoughts about the Yeti's identity with us in the comments.
