MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Steven Lord, a man from New York City was found dead on Sunday, February 12 in his luxury condo. The reason behind his death appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Cops stated that Lord's wife told the police that he was stressed out about a "work incident."

The man was pronounced dead at the scene in his Midtown luxury condo building at 310.E. 53rd St. At 11.07 am, where he was found “unconscious and unresponsive,” according to New York Post. Investigators have not yet found any evidence of criminality in the tragic incident and Lord's cause of death will officially be determined by the Office of the City Medical Examiner.

Who was Steven Lord?

Steven Lord was found dead in one of New York City's luxurious buildings. “The wife was on scene and told us he had expressed stress over some sort of a work incident,” stated a source from the police, the New York Post reported.

The building in which Lord stayed is a 29-floor glass tower that has 88 units with floors of hardwood. According to the website of the property, the tower located in the tiny Turtle Bay neighborhood in Manhattan has oversize windows and high ceilings. As per the StreetEasy.com listings, two-bedroom units in the building are priced at around $2 million ranging up to $2.8 million.

High-rise building deaths in Midtown

A week ago on Tuesday, February 7, a 24-year-old man who has not been publicly identified jumped to his death in Midtown. The young man landed at a construction site situated near Penn Station after he leaped from the 32nd floor of 2 Penn Plaza. Wearing earbuds, he randomly walked into the Midtown building before he died.

In another luxury high-rise-related tragic death, a French financier Charles-Henry Kurzen plummeted from the 32th-floor balcony and landed on a patio on the third floor at 100 United Nations Plaza in May 2022. With a real estate agent, the 43-year-old man was taking a tour of a unit in the same area, according to police sources.
