Who was Maxim Slobodian? Skydiver, 31, dies after parachute fails to open hours after haunting post
On Sunday, July 17, Maxim Slobodian, well known as Maximignite, a professional skydiver from Ukraine, passed away tragically during a horror jump accident. The 31-year-old Maxim Slobodian died while skydiving in Switzerland. Maximignite jumped off the Sputnik launch site above Lake Walenstadt. Soon after he collided with some natural obstructions and fell 300 meters. The incident was initially reported in local media before it was later posted on Instagram and TikTok. What caused the accident is still unknown. Maxim, a resident of Dubai, had just returned from a base-jumping trip to Switzerland. The influencer had completed 8,100 jumps according to his Instagram platform where he had 180k followers.
The local daily newspaper did not corroborate any details regarding his wingsuit or parachute. Other local sources such as Upto Brain said that the disaster might have been caused by a malfunctioning parachute. However, the information has not been confirmed by any official sources. More details surrounding the cause of his demise are expected as St Gallen's police investigate the incident. However, it remains to be seen if any newfound information will be made public.

Medical personnel hurried to the scene and made frantic attempts to save Maxim's life, however, the Ukrainian base jumper had suffered extensive injuries and died at the scene. Maxim's family has not officially confirmed his passing. Maxim had shared a picture of himself prepared to leap off a cliff in Switzerland hours before he passed away. The post caption says, "When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love."
On social media, heartfelt tributes have poured in for Maxim. Video producer Ofer Yakov took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message about Slobodian. In the post, Yakov wrote, “I really wish it wasn't real, and I didn't have to say goodbye to you today, Max. You were always so nice to me and always cared about me, and the last voice message (sic) you sent me will always remain for proof." "No no no please tell me it’s not true. I don’t want a world without you in it,” TV host and fellow skydiver Aggie Lal added.
