The multi-dimensional personality and mother of the actor Sylvester Stallone, Jackie Stallone passed away on September 21, according to TMZ. However, the circumstances surrounding her death are yet unclear. Besides being the mother of her celebrity children, including singer Frank Stallone and late actress Toni D’Alto, Jackie was rather known for her work in various fields such as wrestling and astrology.

Born in Washington D.C in 1921, Jackie grew up in a family that lived with bodybuilders Charles Atlas. Thanks to the influence of gymnastics and other athletic activities from an early age, Jackie became the first woman to have a daily TV show built around exercise and weight lifting in D.C. Before she rose to fame through her appearances on television, the late celebrity worked as a trapeze artist in a circus in her youth and also served as the chorus girl in a nightclub. She lived a low-profile life despite her many achievements. So much so that, she apparently remained unknown as Sylvester’s mother when he starred in the 1976’s blockbuster film ‘Rocky’.

One of her first television appearances was on the 1980s wrestling program ‘Glow’. Not only did she become a well-known wrestling promoter in the later years, but she also established herself in the realm of astrology and even published books on the same. Jackie invented the term ‘rumpology’, which she described as art similar to palm reading, except that she would narrate the future of her clients by studying the other parts of their bodies. Her interests were not just limited to wrestling and astrology as she went on to launch her own line official masks and products.

She gained more prominence on television in the '90s, as she appeared on a couple of reality and talk shows. In January 2005, she appeared on UK’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ as a surprise contestant. However, she was the first one to get voted out following four days of stay in the house.

Jackie was a star in her own right and many continue to draw inspiration from her life to date. On hearing the news reading her passing, Jackie's fans took to Twitter to pay condolence to the late star as they reminisced her achievements. One tweeted, "God bless her soul. I remember her being on a couple tv shows way back, and my mom telling me 'thats Rocky’s mom', I think. Prayers for the family. She lived a long good life. RIP". While another added, "Wow 98 years old that’s awesome what a life she must have led ! Condolences to Stallone " One user noted, "She lived a Long life,Longer then most....She lived to see her grandchildren have children."
