FONTANA, CALIFORNIA: Evan Ellingson, who was well-known for acting in the 2009 movie 'My Sister's Keeper', has breathed his last at the age of 35.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's coroners division, Ellingson was found dead in a bedroom at his residence in Fontana, California, at 11.31 am on Sunday, November 5.

An autopsy was scheduled on Monday morning, November 6, and his cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Evan Ellingson reportedly struggled with addiction

According to the report of TMZ, Ellingson's father said that the actor struggled with addiction and died in a sober-living home.

One of Ellingson's most prominent roles was as Jesse in the 2009 cancer drama 'My Sister's Keeper' alongside a cast that included Cameron Diaz, Alec Baldwin, Abigail Breslin and Jason Patric.

Ellingson, who hasn't appeared onscreen in over 10 years, played the son of David Caruso's Lt Horatio Caine on 'CSI: Miami.' Additionally, he played nephew to Kiefer Sutherland's Jack Bauer on 24.

Evan Ellingson was raised in California alongside his three brothers

According to his bio on IMDb, the actor was raised in La Verne, California, with his three brothers and he was "discovered at a skate park and was asked to not only skate for the Vans PeeWee team, but to do a commercial for the Vans Company."

His "unmistakable charisma and talent" led to him being "asked to do a trilogy of short films playing a character that was written specifically for him," which landed him more roles later, his bio added.

Ellingson told The Philippine Star while promoting 'CSI: Miami' back in 2009, "I never had the same [childhood] experience with my friends. I never had more time with them. However, my childhood was a cool one. I was busy doing the things I love." He added, "I had no regrets because I found my passion for acting early on."
