Home Improvement's Zachery Ty Bryan arrested for 'strangling' girlfriend: Here's a look at actor's love life
Actor Zachery Ty Bryan, known for playing Brad Taylor in the Tim Allen-led sitcom 'Home Improvement', was arrested on Saturday, October 17, in Eugene, Oregon, for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. The news came a few weeks after Bryan announced his divorce from Carly Matos.
Police officers arrived at a North Eugene apartment on Friday, October 16, following report of a physical dispute and found the 39-year old actor sitting outside. According to the spokesperson, law enforcement was "dispatched to report of a physical dispute at a north Eugene home after neighbors called". They arrived at Bryan's residence on Friday at 10.24 pm ET. The victim, whom he has a relationship with, as police noted, "was at a neighboring apartment". Bryan has been charged with three offenses, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office shared. In addition to strangulation, the actor has been charged with fourth-degree assault and interfering while making of a police report.
"An investigation found that during the dispute, Bryan is reported to have assaulted the victim, impeded her breathing, and taken the victim's phone from her when she tried to call 911," the spokesperson shared. "The victim declined medics. Bryan was taken into custody without incident and lodged at the Lane County Jail."
Bryan had been married to Carly for 13 years. In 2007, the duo who met at La Canada Junior High School, got married. On June 23, 2014, the couple welcomed their twin girls, Gemma Rae and Taylor Simone. Their third daughter, Jordana Nicole, was born on June 7, 2016, and their fourth child, a son named Pierce Alexander, was born in March 2019.
Nearly two weeks ago, Bryan took to social media to announce that he and Carly were going their separate ways after spending almost 14 years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents. "It has been an incredible journey, but together, we’ve decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage. As we enter into this next chapter, our children and relationship as co-parents and dear friends will remain our priority. We understand this news lends itself to public dialogue, but in the interest of our children and our family, we’re asking for privacy, compassion and love during this time. Thank you," the actor wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture with Carly.
On the night of the arrest, Bryan posted a picture on Instagram where he can be seen sitting with four women in a place that looks like a club, titled, "Goodnight".
