Who is Yael Shelbia? Israeli teen named 'most beautiful face' in the world: 'I’ve never come first at anything'
Israeli model Yael Shelbi has topped the '100 Most Beautiful Faces of the Year', a "list representative of the modern ideal of worldwide beauty." The 19-year-old was given the top spot by the annual TC Candler list. The Sun reported that founder TC Candler published a video compilation of its readers' picks for the most beautiful women in the world, which gave Shelbia the coveted top spot.
The message on the website of Independent Critics by TC Candler stated, “Unlike most other annual beauty rankings. The List is not a popularity contest and is most definitely not country-specific. It is not about the sexiest body or the most famous celebrity. Rather, the list attempts to inform & broaden public opinion instead of reflecting it. You will find superstars and new stars, global sensations and relative unknowns.”
It added: “The Independent Critics are a diverse group of approximately 20 people living in various parts of the world, organized by TC Candler, who search far and wide, listening to the many millions of suggestions submitted by the public over the past couple of decades, and they then put together a list representative of the modern ideal of worldwide beauty. Aesthetic perfection is only one of the criteria. Grace, elegance, originality, daring, passion, class, poise, joy, promise, hope… they are all embodied in a beautiful face.
"With those criteria in mind, TC Candler and the members select only 100 faces out of the approximately 105,000 female celebrities (which works out to less than 0.0010%). It is a thankless task, as no individual will ever agree with all of the choices. However, the general consensus has been that the Independent Critics have created a celebratory list that cherishes the feminine aesthetic and opens the world’s eyes to a unique, diverse and international collection of beautiful faces. Over 40 countries are regularly represented on the annual list. That number seems to go up every year as the public participation grows and expands. This diversity relies heavily on suggestions from almost every corner of the globe.”
Currently, Shelbia is doing her required military service in the Israel Air Force, but parallelly she has also done campaigns for Israeli clothing company Renuar and Kim Kardashian’s KKW Beauty makeup line. The teenager thanked TC Candler in an Instagram post, saying, “Thank you @tccandler and all the voters 💕💕 I appreciate it with all my heart!!” Her 980k followers on the social media site also congratulated her with one saying: “CONGRATS MY LOVE.” Another said, “Gorgeous.” “Beautiful inside and out you deserve it all!!” the third one added.
However, this was not the first time, Shelbia was on the world’s most beautiful women list as in 2017, she grabbed the14th position, a year later, she was on the third position, and in 2019, she was given the second rank. “I’ve never come first at anything… it’s very nice,” she told Channel 12 news from Los Angeles. Apart from her professional life, at present, the actress is romantically involved with Brandon Korff, grandson of the late CBS and Viacom billionaire honcho Sumner Redstone.
