As news outlets reported that Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West were headed for divorce, the internet was abuzz with rumors of the once-power couple dating different people. While Kanye West has been linked with controversial make-up guru Jeffree Star, Kim Kardashian has been linked with CNN star Van Jones. Page Six reported earlier that multiple sources said that “divorce is imminent” for the Hollywood couple, with Kardashian West hiring a divorce attorney, Laura Wasser. “They are keeping it low-key but they are done,” said a source. “Kim has hired Laura Wasser and they are in settlement talks.” The source further said that “Kim got Kanye to go up there [Wyoming] so they could live separate lives and quietly get things sorted out to separate and divorce. She’s done.”
The source added that Kardashian West has done much in the past to protect and help West deal with his mental health struggles, but “now this divorce is happening because Kim has grown up a lot. She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign. Meanwhile, Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy s***, and she’s just had enough of it.”
Who is Van Jones and why are rumors flying about Kardashian West is dating him?
Born Anthony Kapel Jones in Jackson, Tennessee, Van Jones is an American news commentator, author, and lawyer. He is the co-founder of several non-profit organizations, a three-time New York Times bestselling author, a CNN host and contributor, and an Emmy Award winner. Jones lives in New York City and Los Angeles. He is a father of two sons. Jones separated from his wife, Jana Carter, in May 2018 and their divorce was finalized in June 2019.
Jones hosts two shows on CNN, ‘The Van Jones Show’ and ‘The Redemption Project’. He is also the host of CNN’s ‘Incarceration, Inc.’ podcast series. From 2013 to 2014, Jones was a co-host of CNN Crossfire. In his efforts to work towards better rights for the incarcerated, Jones has co-founded a series of social enterprises, including, Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, ColorOfChange.org, GreenForAll.org, Rebuild The Dream, and the Dream Corps.
It would seem that the rumors of them dating emerged because Kardashian West has worked closely with Jones on prison reform. As per Page Six, Jones met Kardashian West at the White House in 2018, when she was seeking a pardon for Alice Johnson. Jones told Andy Cohen on ‘Watch What Happens Live’ in 2019 that in his opinion, Kardashian West was “brilliant,” adding that she would make a good lawyer because she was “incredibly persuasive and persistent.”
So, while it is abundantly clear that the two know each other and have a high degree of respect for each other, it is absolutely uncertain if they are in fact dating each other. It is reportedly a rumor that’s been doing the rounds on social media thanks to a viral TikTok. It would seem that the internet really wants them to date.

Earlier, popular TikTok star Ava Louise claimed West has been sleeping with Star. Louise captioned a video that read, “I can’t say who cause he’ll sue me hint hint but it’s part of the reason Kanye is so religious now, it’s his self-hatred…my source is legit.” Though the social media star did not directly name the beauty influencer, she liked the comments in the video that guessed Star, who has a house in Wyoming.
