One of the slowest moving mammals on planet Earth, the Sloth, is the disguise a particular celebrity has chosen for his appearance on 'The Masked Dancer' Season 1. The show has reached its end with the finale episode airing on February 17, 2021 and the Sloth has made it to the finals along with frontrunners Tulip and the Cotton Candy who will battle it out for the diamond mask trophy.

The Sloth is an exceptional performer, the agility, the flare, the stance everything screams that it is a professional dancer under the mask. Currently, in the finale, the impact that the Tulip and Cotton Candy have had on audiences is more than the Sloth, however, it still doesn't negate the fact that he's on par with his fellow competitors. All clues about the Sloth on 'The Masked Dancer'

In the semi-finals, the Sloth revealed that he was never confident about making a full-blown career out of dancing and he had no inkling of the fact that one day he'd find the love of his life through dancing. In one of the clue package videos, the Sloth was seen proposing to one of the dancers. Maksim married Peta Murgatroyd in 2017. The Sloth also said that he had "a very special love for the Nutcracker". The music from this ballet was played at Max and Peta's wedding.

In the Super Six episode that marked his third appearance on the show, Sloth said that he was out of his comfort zone while on the 'TMD' stage but the anonymity did provide some relief. He also said that he couldn't wait for his kid and wife to find out about his stint on the show and he also revealed that he will be displaying a new style of dancing every week leading to the finale. The super clue in the new clue package was the number 18. This could be a direct nod to Max winning Season 18 of 'Dancing with the Stars'. He made it to the finale five times with his respective partners but never won until Season 18 with Olympic ice dancer Meryl Davis. The ABC show's initials were also a part of the clue package video referenced as Dentist Whitening Tooth System. He also said that it was tough living away from his family and someone on the judges' panel picked up that he didn't really live in Los Angeles where the show was being filmed. For the uninformed, Max and Peta welcomed their son Shai Aleksander on January 4, 2017 and that explains the reason why the Sloth said he was missing his kid and wife.

In the earlier clue packages, Sloth was seen sipping from a cup that had the number 13 on it. Other visual clues included a DR badge — this could either mean a doctor or the Dominican Republic. There was also a clock on the wall where the time was set to 11:35, and a toothpaste box with the visible word 'Glee' written on it. A Golden Derby article states, all these visual clues are hints for his 'DWTS' partners. Heather Morris from 'Glee' was his partner in Season 24, DR refers to Denise Richards with whom he competed on Season 8 of the show and the number 13 was a reference for Hope Solo with whom he competed on Season 13 of 'DWTS'

On January 13, he returned for Group B playoffs and in the clue package, he said that he didn't always feel like a star. He had to move to a new place while he was young and didn't know the language of where he'd now arrived to live out the next couple of years of his life. This could be a nod to Max's early life. He was born in the Ukrainian city of Odessa which was then the Soviet Union but at 14 years of age, he along with his family moved to the United States.

Whether Maksim Chmerkovskiy is the Sloth or not will be confirmed at the end of the finale episode during the unmasking. Do you think Max is the Sloth or do you have other guesses? Let us know in the comments below.
