The athlete is engaged to a 22-year-old Austrian ski cross rider, Tatjana Meklau. Meklau works in a bakery in St Gallen and is getting ready to resume snow training after recovering from an injury. They met on social media when Meklau congratulated him on his victory in the decathlon at the U20 European Championship, and they started chatting and eventually met in person. "But then he texted that he had missed the train," she told German outlet Schweizer Illustrierte. "I had my doubts as to whether he would actually come, but five hours later he was at the station."

In 2021, both of them faced challenging times as they grappled with injuries that affected their athletic pursuits. "I've gotten his mood, but he mine too," admits Meklau. Ehammer doesn't hide his frustration when there's an issue with his performance. He said, "Tatjana has to be able to endure something, but so must the coaching team. My environment knows how to deal with it and then leaves me alone for a while." Ehammer wants to take a vacation with Meklau after his season is over. "It is important for our togetherness. I would like to show my sweetheart more of Switzerland, there are many beautiful spots here."

Tatjana Meklau is an accomplished Austrian athlete, born on September 18, 1999, with a dual passion for freestyle skiing and track and field. As a member of the B squad of the Austrian Ski Association, she competes in the ski cross discipline. Additionally, she has made a name for herself in track and field, particularly excelling in the hammer throw. At the age of twelve, Meklau shifted her focus to athletics and found her niche in the hammer throw discipline. Over the years, she achieved remarkable success, becoming a two-time state champion in the hammer throw and setting an Austrian record with an impressive throw of 61.37 meters.
In 2019, she transitioned back to competitive skiing after receiving training from the Austrian Ski Association.
