Who is Sarie Kessler? 'Barbie' star Margot Robbie paid off her mother's mortgage as soon as she hit pay dirt in Hollywood
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: When Margot Robbie's career started to take off, she did not think twice about providing for her mother financially. The recently released 'Barbie' movie's actor, Robbie, claimed she paid her mother's mortgage once she started making money.
Robbie revealed on CBS Sunday Morning, "Everything I owed my mom, I had it written down. She'd take money out of the, like, house mortgage [to] lend me money. So I always knew, I was like, 'I gotta pay that back,'" She added, "And then one day, when I made enough money, I just paid that whole mortgage off completely."
Who is Sarie Kessler?
The 33-year-old Australian actress continued, "I was like, 'Mom, don't even worry about that mortgage anymore. It doesn't even exist anymore." Robbie added, "Anyone in my position, you'd do that for your mom. Of course, you would." However, let's learn about Robbie's mother, Margot Robbie.
Despite living on different sides of the globe, Margot Robbie and her mother, Sarie Kessler, are inseparably linked. The third of her four children with her ex-husband Doug Robbie, Kessler gave birth to the Barbie star on July 2, 1990. He left the family when the future Academy Award nominee was five years old.
As a single mother, Kessler reared Robbie and her siblings on a farm on Australia's Gold Coast: an elder sister, an older brother, and a younger brother. Kessler raised Robbie and her brothers by herself when her father abandoned the family. Robbie has sometimes brought up her father throughout the years, even though she is alienated from him and prefers not to talk about him in public, as reported by People.
Kessler is a physiotherapist
In 2016, Robbie said to Harper's Bazaar, "I'm not like him at all," adding that she has "nothing" in common with him. Kessler is a physiotherapist, which means she assists patients in managing their pain and mobility in addition to caring for her children and the family farm. She previously concentrated mostly on dealing with the elderly while her children were growing up. She now helps with kids that have impairments.
Robbie said she feels 'so lucky' and 'grateful'
Robbie said she feels "so lucky" and "grateful" to be in her position in her profession. Robbie said, "I know I'm hardworking and blah, blah, blah, but I'm also the luckiest, luckiest, luckiest person in the world." She added, "Every time that I did something I was like, 'Now it's the top. It will never get better than this.' And then somehow it's just kept getting better and better."
Margot and her mother, Sarie, both had appearances in Vogue Australia in 2019. Sarie remembered the day her kid informed her she wanted to be an actor at the time. Sarie said, "I really admired the way you set about deciding how your future was going to unfold. I remember the first time you told me you were going to be an actor in grade 12."
She continued, "Do you remember doing that movie? You loved it so much, and you came home and said, "Mum, you're not going to like this, but I've decided I'm going to be an actor." Kessler admitted that her first concern for Margot stemmed from her belief that it would be "hard to be an actor and make a good living," as reported by FoxNews.
