Who is Robert Shiver? Savannah Chrisley hard launches ex-football player who survived beauty queen murder plot on social media
THOMASVILLE, GEORGIA: Savannah Chrisley just made her new boyfriend public on Instagram. The 26-year-old announced her romance with Robert Shiver on Instagram on November 4.
Several images of the pair were featured in the post, beginning with one of Chrisley smiling at Robert while he grinned at the camera. Chrisley and Robert appeared ready to kiss in the second photo, which was followed by a third and final frame of the couple kissing for the camera.
"Sometimes... it just works," she said in the caption.
Robert, meanwhile, gained notoriety when he escaped a purported murderous scheme that involved his ex-wife, Lindsay Shiver. The former cheerleader for Auburn University and beauty pageant winner from Thomasville, Georgia, along with her purported lover, are being detained at a Bahamian jail before their October court appearance.
They are suspected of planning to kill Robert in July 2023 with the help of an alleged hitman.
Employment
According to the company's website, Robert is from Thomasville, Georgia, and has been a senior vice president at Senior Life Insurance since 2009.
Sports career
Robert played football for Auburn University before joining the insurance firm. He began as a walk-on for the Auburn Tigers before gaining a three-year scholarship and eventually being elected team captain during his final year.
According to his bio on Senior Life Insurance's website, he had a chance to play for the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL.
Children
Robert and Lindsay had three children throughout their marriage. With her boyfriend's children in mind, Savannah stated on Nick Viall's "The Viall Files" podcast on Sept. 14 that she was keeping specifics regarding the suspected murder plan involving Lindsay hidden.
"There's kids involved," Savannah stated throughout the show. "I just have so much respect for them that I would never say, ‘This is what happened. That’s what happened.’ That’s for them to talk about when they’re ready to talk about it."

Lindsay, Robert's ex-wife, is also from Thomasville and attended Auburn University, where she rooted for the team. According to CBS42, she was voted Miss Houston County in 2005 after finishing second in the National Peanut Festival pageant that year.
They married in 2007 and later had three children together. Lindsay is accused of preparing to assassinate Robert with her claimed lover and suspected intended hitman in the Bahamas.
According to Bahamas Court News, which broke the news on July 28, the three were apprehended by authorities in Abaco, Bahamas, where the once-married couple had a property.
While investigating a July 16 break-in at Grabber's Bar and Grill on Guana, police discovered a sequence of WhatsApp communications outlining the suspected conspiracy to assassinate Robert.
The trio subsequently appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley and were not obliged to make a plea, according to the Bahamas Court News. They are now being held in a Bahamian prison and are due to appear in court on October 5.

Savannah and Robert are dating, according to a source who exclusively confirmed it to PEOPLE in September 2023. While many facts about their relationship are kept hidden, the TV personality discussed their romance on "The Viall Files" podcast.

Savannah's new guy, Robert, bears little resemblance to her late ex, Nic Kerdiles. The 'Chrisley Knows Best' star received backlash over the weekend after uploading PDA-filled photos with Robert on November 4 — over two months after her ex-fiancé's death.
"I just wanted to hop on here and clear up some misconceptions. I posted those photos last night, and obviously tons of positive comments, but there’s also a lot of comments about Nic and I," Savannah stated in an Instagram Story video.
“I just want to say, Nic and I have been broken up for a long time. We got engaged, called off the engagement, tried to date, tried to stay in each other’s lives, and it just didn’t work out. We loved each other more than anything in this world, but it just didn’t work.”
Savannah also explained when her post-divorce friendship with Nic ended, saying, "In January, we finally just cold turkey stopped talking in general. So, Nic and I were not together. We had not been together in…two years, maybe?"
Savannah said that they were both seeing other individuals before Nic's unexpected demise. "We had both moved on. I was happy for him, and it’s just part of life. Like I said, I have nothing but love and respect for Nic and his family."
