Kurt Cobain's daughter Frances Bean marries Riley Hawk in wedding officiated by REM's Michael Stipe
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Legendary musician Kurt Cobian’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain, 31, has married Riley Hawk, 30, son of legendary skateboarder ‘Birdman’ Tony Hawk.
TMZ reported that the Nirvana frontman’s daughter tied the knot with the professional skateboarder Riley on October 7 after obtaining a marriage license in September in San Diego County.
The news outlet reported that Frances and Riley got married in Los Angeles. The ceremony was officiated by R.E.M frontman Michael Stipe.
Michael Stipe is also the godfather of Cobain’s daughter. Drew Barrymore is the godmother of Frances.
Riley Hawk is also a musician
Born on December 6, 1992, Riley Hawk became a professional skateboarder on his 21st birthday in December 2013. He also was named the Skateboarder Magazine's 2013 Amateur of the Year on his 21st birthday.
The multi-talented star was also featured in the video games of his father Tony Hawk - a professional skateboarder. He appeared in ‘Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD’, ‘Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5’ and ‘Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2’.
Riley is also a musician and is the frontman of the punk band ‘Warish’. His past relationships, if any, are unknown.
Dating history of Frances Bean Cobain
While this is Riley's first marriage, it is Frances’s second marriage. She previously married musician Isaiah Silva back in June 2014, per TMZ. Isaiah is also a member of the rock band The Eeries.
However, they pulled the plug on their marriage within two years and filed for divorce in March 2016.

It was a contentious divorce with Frances losing custody of one of her father’s memorable guitars. The Martin D-18E guitar was used by Kurt Cobain in one of his last performances at MTV’s Unplugged, per People.
Following her divorce, she dated ‘The Ceremonies’ guitarist Matthew Cook and was seen enjoying a beach vacation with him in Honolulu, per Just Jared.
Frances also took a year's break from social media in 2021 and came back in 2022. She posted a long message along with an Instagram carousel that featured pictures of Riley and Tony Hawk along with other family members.
She wrote, "I took a year long break from posting on Instagram which was exceptionally good for my mental, emotional & spiritual health. 2021 brought me more into the present moment than I’ve ever been, which I’m deeply grateful for."
She continued, "I wanted to share a few moments that were captured / created this past year that brought me a great amount of joy. Here’s to hoping everyone’s 2022 is filled with authentic connections, a lot of warmth & profound discovery of self 🥂 happy new year 🎆."
