WASHINGTON, DC: 'Good Morning America' viewers usually expect the hosts to talk about various kinds of subjects on the morning show. However, some can come off as outright odd, such as the recent story of President Joe Biden’s family dog, Commander, a German shepherd, having believed to have bitten several Secret Service agents in the past months.

In the latest episode of 'GMA', Linsey Davis spoke to ABC’s congressional correspondent Rachel Scott who was reporting live from the White House on the startling incident. Notably, Scott is a famed journalist who has received a Peabody award for his groundbreaking work in the past, including extensive coverage of presidential campaigns. So, the news of a family dog biting Secret Service agents might come off as unusual to some when it's reported by someone like her.

Who is Rachel Scott?

Rachel Scott is a 31-year-old senior congressional correspondent for ABC News, reporting from Capitol Hill across all programs and platforms, including 'Good Morning America', 'World News Tonight with David Muir', 'Nightline', and 'This Week with George Stephanopoulos', to name a few. She began her career as a production associate for ABC News Live in 2016 and later went on to become the White House correspondent and Washington, DC correspondent.

Moreover, Scott was in charge of providing extensive on-the-ground coverage during the pandemic about its impact on people of color. She was also on the road covering the Presidential campaigns in 2020, featuring in several of ABC News' primetime specials for Juneteenth, the fall of Afghanistan, the State of the Union, and the inauguration of President Biden. For her dedication and impeccable coverage over the years, Scott has been awarded a Peabody and two Edward R Murrow Awards for breaking news coverage following the death of George Floyd.

During a recent episode, Scott was at the White House not to report on anything related to politics or update the viewers on a domestic matter of the Biden family but to highlight an unusual incident. On the contrary, she talked about their dog, Commander, having reportedly bitten seven Secret Service Agents. Scott mentioned that the "White House is still figuring out as to how Commander has bitten or attacked Service Agents at least 10 times over four months, with one of those incidents leading one agent to the hospital."

As the news went viral, many took to social media to express their views on the unexpected incident. A Twitter user wrote, "It seems like an SNL skit, where they're the only ones laughing at their own jokes," while another added, "Secret Service is doing something wrong if they’re being bit on a regular basis by a well-trained dog who knows them." One more wrote, "Trust the dogs but do be aware the breed is known for being more territorial than others. I'm betting the ppl getting bit don't respect the dog," who also thought that there might be something odd going on if there are multiple incidents of a dog biting people. "He was a sleeper agent," quipped one, with another expressing, "He’s just not being taken care of properly lol."
