WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO: The 2023 US Open will begin in less than 24 hours and the world's top golf players will descend on Los Angeles Country Club (LACC). Paige Spiranac has made some intriguing choices for this year's US Open. In her most recent video, Spiranac shared her picks for the competition. However, she cited several other points in her pre-event analysis.

Spiranac cited favorites such as Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka, as well as a potential longshot named Gary Woodland. In the end, she settled on Scottie Scheffler as her favorite to win it all and Keegan Bradley as a darkhorse contender.

'Beast of a golf course'

Given that both golf courses were created by George Thomas, Spiranac believes players who played well at the Riviera Country Club will have a successful week at the LACC as well. "So, look for players who played well at Riviera, and they should have a good go at LACC," Spiranac said.

Speaking about the length of the golf course, Spiranac said, "It's a par 70 playing over 7400 yards. It's a beast of a golf course, but it won't play as long as it reads on the scorecard because of those firm, fast fairways. They have a lot of slope to them, but there is a par 3 that's 290 yards." She posted the video on Twitter saying, "US Open! Who are you picking?"

'Not a bad pick'

Although LACC is hosting the US Open for the first time, they have previously hosted the Walker Cup. According to Spiranac, the players on the US squad during that year would do well given their previous experience in the venue. She said, "The US was victorious over Europe, and who was on that USA team? Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa and Maverick McNealy. There's some good vibes on this golf course."

Spiranac believes Scheffler, Rahm or Koepka will win the tournament. She did, however, reveal one unexpected choice, saying, "Another huge favorite is California boy Max Homa. He played well at Riviera, remember same course architect, and he shot a 61 at LACC before. Not a bad pick."
