She was suffering from colon cancer and was 53. The actor, who played the role of Mickey in the 1997 comedy film 'B*A*P*S' also starring Halle Berry, was also recognised for her character Janie Egins on the sitcom 'Eve'.

Natalie was married to Leonard Reid from 2003 to the time of her death. The couple had three children, Sereno, Summer and Sasha. Not a lot of known about Leonard as he wasn't part of Hollywood or showbiz and maintained a low-profile. In fact, Natalie's family didn't even reveal her cancer diagnosis as they battled the tragedy in privacy. Leonard hasn't made any individual official statement yet about the passing of Natalie.

She was a bright light in this world. A queen. An extraordinary mother and wife." Her official Instagram account posted, "It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share the loss of our beautiful Natalie this morning from colon cancer. She was a bright light in this world. A queen. An extraordinary mother and wife. Her diverse career touched so many and she will be loved forever. Naturally, we are grieving and processing this profound loss and we thank you in advance for respecting our privacy at this extremely difficult time."

Actress Holly Robinson Peete said, "Just absolutely decimated by this news...Actress Natalie Desselle, a bright shining star passed away this morning. I got to know her when my mom was managing her.
