Mila Antonova: Jeffrey Epstein threatened to expose Bill Gates' alleged affair with Russian bridge player
Jeffrey Epstein threatened Bill Gates that he will expose his affair with Russian bridge player, Mila Antonova, whom the Microsoft co-founder met at a bridge tournament in 2010. Epstein, a convicted pedophile who died in a New York prison cell on August 10, 2019, as he awaited his trial on sex trafficking charges, met Antonova in 2013 and reportedly paid for her to attend classes for software coding. He also provided an apartment for her to stay at in New York City in November 2014.
Epstein threatened Gates, who was married to his then-wife, Melinda French Gates, to reimburse him for the cost of investing in Antonova’s coding education, The Wall Street Journal reports. The blackmail took place in 2017 after Gates denied to participate in a multibillion-dollar charity fund Epstein tried to start at JP Morgan Chase.

Who is Mila Antonova?
Antonova wanted to establish an online bridge tutorial business and was attempting to secure funds, according to The Wall Street Journal. So through Boris Nikolic, a close Gates adviser, Antonova was introduced to Epstein to help her raise funds to “promote bridge by creating quality tutorials for beginners and advanced players." In a 2010 YouTube video, Antonova recounted a tournament that she played with Gates, saying, “I didn’t beat him but I tried to kick him with my leg.”
Antonova told the outlet that she didn’t know who Epstein was when they met and thought he was just a “successful businessman and wanted to help.” "I am disgusted with Epstein and what he did,” she expressed, she further added that he did agree to pay and told, "I don’t know why he did that. When I asked, he said something like, he was wealthy and wanted to help people when he could," New York Post reports.
How did Bill Gates know Jeffrey Epstein?
A spokesperson for Gates said, "Mr Gates met with Epstein solely for philanthropic purposes. Having failed repeatedly to draw Mr Gates beyond these matters, Epstein tried unsuccessfully to leverage a past relationship to threaten Mr Gates." Antonova would be the second known affair Gates engaged in while married to Melinda, whom he married in 2014. Gates’ other affair occurred with a Microsoft employee. In 2021, Gates accepted that he had an affair of almost 20 years with a Microsoft employee, a relationship the rep said “ended amicably," stated a report by New York Post. Following this, in January 2023, he regretted maintaining links with Epstein against his former wife’s advice. He told Australia’s ABC 7.30 show, as stated by HuffPost, “You’re going way back in time. I will say for the over 100th time, yeah, I shouldn’t have had dinners with him.”
